Short Allstar NRL Comp Idea

Just looking at my fantasy league team I was thinking I would love to see these guys play together.

I would like to see a short NRL Super All star  comp for top players to increase there salary earnings,

and fans to see the best players compete

A four team comp of the best players from a group of clubs.

I think they would all be pretty strong teams.

Western Allstars

Penrith

Parra

Tigers

Bulldogs

Southern Allstars

Cronulla

Melbourne

Raiders

Souths

Eastern Allstars

Easts

Manly

Warriors

St George

Northern Allstars

Cowboys

Broncos

Titans

Newcastle

The haters will shoot me down as usual but I'd love to see what peoples team lineups would be. They'd be some quality sides.

  • The elite players are already complaining about burn-out, this would just increase those cries.

I personally think that there should be less elite games and more club games.

    • Agree, I heard they're reducing the rounds in 2018

    • Id prefer a 30 round comp over some rep games. Scrap nines and the test match and extend the game another 4 rounds. This also allows for team to play each other twice.
  • Stop discriminating against tall players! At least Sandow might be able to tackle somebody.
  • It would be great to see Os - the fans would love it.

The problem is coaches would not want to risk their star players in such a competition, and ageing stars such as Thurston, Smith etc. would be reluctant to play as they look to prolong their time at the top. Clubs will always have their eye on the premiership first and foremost and will always discriminate against anything else - as we have seen in the Indigenous All Stars and the 9's.

It would be great to see though :)

We will have to be satisfied with the Auckland 9's - which I reckon is a great season opener.

  • Auckland nines is a good opener.

This would not be an idea for every season, I would like to see this maybe once every four years. Maybe scrap some internationals that year and swap it for this.

Even bringing in a 5th Super League All star side would be great. You would get to see a lot of ex NRL players up against current ones.

  • Western Allstars

    1 Tedesco

    2 Radradra

    3 J Morris

    4 Hopoate

    5 B Morris

    6 Foran

    7 Mbye

    8 James Graham

    9 Segyaro

    10 Tolman

    11 Beau Scott

    12 Marty Tapau

    13 Greg Eastwood

  • I would actually like Kenny Edwards over Greg Eastwood but I was struggling.

  • Theres no way in hell anybody in the clubs would want extra footy for their stats and after a long footy season i think it would be overkill.

"Agree. He was giving to Reed who clearly hates the Eels and Reed has no idea what he's talking about. "
