Todays Sunday Telegraph. Buzz "lightyear" column. SHOOSH - Which NRL coach and his general manager of football are at odds over one of the games best playmakers? The coach thinks the player is worth $200,000 more than the General Manager does.
Our club perhaps. Mitch Moses - BA - Mark O'Neil, or another club. Seems to be accepted that the Eels are offering $850'000 and some experts " Matty Johns" think he can command $1.1 mil. Chad Townsend just signed with the Cowboys for reported $800'000. So the question is What is Mitch worth to us and our team. Are we going to stick at $850'000 with the Broncos making a legitimate play for him or is he worth the 1mil to us. Its about to heat up and real decisions may be reached in the next few weeks on his future.

Which is why Mark O'Neill is GM & BA is head coach.
Townsend is a grand final winning half back. Townsend is at the end of his career, moses is in his prime years but is yet to prove he can step up when it counts. $850k seems about right to me until he takes that next step but it doesn't really matter what any of us think, it will get sorted out one way or another by people in a position to do so.
Thats so very true
Think this is likely to be Sharks who have proposed an offer for Shaun Johnson at 400k.
i agree with the coach.
really doubt Brad would suggest 200k increase think he’d want to keep his team together.
Could be the sharks.
I wouldnt think Brad would suggest $200 more but the Manager may be requesting it and Brad wants to pay it to keep him. Just a thought.
Yes I just can’t see BA doing that myself given Mitch is on $830K now ...you could be right though.
the Gutho contract debacle our first offer was so ridiculously low. Given BA and Guts relationship, his consistency and value to our side over the years, think he’d be more likely to have stuck his neck out then.
Sure Mitch has hit his straps at the right time but if he has offers elsewhere at over $1M then maybe we let him go. Still doubt he would leave though...he left tigers to play finals footy he said. Broncs don’t look near that.
Shaun Johnson at $400k is more or less saying on your bike though. Lots of injuries and Achilles is a B I know, but at that price what a bargain!
The Cowboys and Broncos all need to pay overs to attract players. The same with the Bulldogs and the same as what Parra did when we were going shit.
A player is worth as much as he can get
Buzz has been doing the bidding for player managers for a while now.
Meanwhile on the home front with the DT announcing that the Eels have withdrawn its offer for Katoni Staggs. This may well free up some cash to get a few of these players over the line.
Your right about Buzz doing the bidding for player managers, I dont know how many times on NRL360 it has been mentioned the free dinners he gets from this Manager and that Manager while they have "player meetings". Makes you wonder what else he might receive for favourable reviews and pushing certain narratives.
Heard it was a south's/Reynolds thing, hadn't even thought about parra
