Shit Players = Shit Team

Sorry for the above brutal heading but someone on here just needs to shout out the bloody obvious. Its obvious BA & DA have no idea.

Kelly, sorry I don't care what he is paid, is useless - and I want to highlight this to all those out there that say he is 2nd tier cap only - HE OFFERS NOTHING TO THE TEAM. You can almost guarantee a loss when he plays. So what do we do. We tell Matterson to go, we know what Kelly brings, but we don't know what Matterson brings as he was never given a chance. This is someone that we are now paying part of his wages  for the next 2 years and you can guarantee he will bite us on the arse some time in the future.

Another player that imo offers very little to the team is Hoppa yet he was offered a new contract at $350k pa. WTF! Yet another example of what is wrong with this team.

What I care about is quality players to help our team. Why are we wasting money on players that offer NOTHING to the team even though they may be 2nd tier payments.

Because of all these useless signings we are yet again within reach of the wooden spoon. So unless things improve on recruitment we will become the wooden spoon kings. Hooray!

  • Look the sooner people wrap their head around Kelly being a starting halve for 2016 the better!!!
    • I know, Kelly should start every game, quality signing that one.
  • Do you remember who played 5/8 against the Dragons? He can offer something.

  • I'd be happy if hoppa was only being paid 350.
  • The Hopa situation is mind blowing. How the coaches/administration (including Seward and the board), have absolutely ballsed up the initial contract is amateurish.

Players and their managers who may have had interested in coming to Parramatta, may have second thoughts.
  • The funny thing is, is that if Hoppa played for the Dogs, Storm, Bronx etc, then everyone would be screaming "why don't we go after Hoppa, he is a current S.O.O player and is only asking for $350k". Look at the runs and metres Hoppa makes every week, now think about if he had an extra couple of yards more of pace how effective he would be. Give him time, the speed will come.

    • Will it? Couldn't you say that about any sh*t player? Give Ryan Morgan another 20 years and he'll be the next Hayne

  • You're acting as if David shillington and Nathan friend are our marquee signings. Other clubs have it worse and haven't signed anywhere near the amount of talent we have for next year.
    • Exactly. On paper we have the 2nd best recruitment in the competition (You could argue that we have the best) and with our strongest 17 from this season should be able to cause some damage to the competition. Look at who the tigers have signed for next season. I reckon that Jesse Parahi is slower than Hoppa.

    • I was going to say the Tigers and they are apparently struggling to keep their current roster in take.

Another thing we you look at our 2016 roster is that we are one of the few clubs who have been able to retain all of the off contacted players that we wanted to. We have not lost anyone of great importance unlike a lot of clubs e.g. manly, souths, roosters, titans.

The only thing that concerns me about our 2016 roster at the moment and I realize that it's not finalized yet is the lack of nrl experience in the Centre position. I don't understand why so many people are happy to let hoppa walk now? Who Is gonna replace him? To me he is a critical signing now as we need to have 2 starting centre's with plenty of experience. I hope we sign up some one as a back up to replace champion with fg in the mould of a Joel reddy or Jonathon wright. Also another back up half and i think we are set.
