  • Will Ice still want to backflip?

  • I think Benji has made a great success of his life. One of the most gifted and popular players of his time, has his own show, Benji and now will learn the coaching game under the most ( or second) experienced coach. Will eventually earn between $800K - $1mill as head coach.
I hope he is a massive success as everyone loves Benji.

    • He won a lot of fans on celebrity apprentice with his honesty, self reflection and authenticity . I guess add that to his playing nous - two year apprenticeship with sheens 🤔🤔🤔

worth a bloody shot I say

    • So a potential coach can be coached to be a coach?. Yes that is true however probably provided that the learner has the right strengths . Rarely are successful coaches previously top class players like Benji Marshall ( State of Origin coaches excepted )

      • So Driza the law of averages is overdue for a top player to become a coach. Bob Fulton jumps to mind in Eagles golden era. Both tenacious about the game. I'm so excited.

    • Have you seen his show? It's ordinary at best. He got the gig because he's one of the boys at Fox Sports.

      • No i have not watched his show. That is irrelevant anyway. My point is Benji has made a success of his life, so you say his show is bad and only has it because he is "one of the boys at Fox Sports" well he had to have a Fox sports gig in the first place, so good on him.

Amazed at how cynical and negative a few people are about this news, probs the same people who over the years had wet dreams over Peter Sterling coaching the Eels.

  • Massive gamble on Benji, given he has no coaching experience or track record, as fantastic a player that he was.

  • Won't work

  • Sheens is a clever guy who would have thought this out quite well I would assume..Making a 5 year commitment suggests Sheens has confidence in Benji. I think we have to move on and look at new talents with coaching provided the proper processes are well thought out.

    Good on them
