The Dyldam Parramatta Eels are happy to announce Peter Sharp has joined the club’s football department.
The former coach of the Cronulla Sharks returned to Blue and Gold HQ this week, and will oversee the list management for NRL, NYC and junior squads alongside Head Coach Brad Arthur and Head of Football Operations, Daniel Anderson.
“Having someone of Peter’s experience joining our football staff is going to be invaluable for us,” Eels CEO Scott Seward said.
“He has a great rugby league mind and will bring a lot to our future recruitment and retention plans.”
A former Eels assistant coach on three occasions in the past 20 years, Sharp will focus on recruitment and retention across the club’s football programs, as well as coaching strategies with the junior grades.
“I love the club, and I really think it’s on the improve, and I’m excited to take this role on as a new career development for me,” Sharp said.
“I think the talent in the Parramatta area is fantastic and untapped, and I’m looking forward to getting straight into things.”

Good to see the club hire someone with the extensive knowledge of the Parramatta area in Sharp. Hopefully he can continue the good work that Pete Nolan has done and we can constantly bring the best players in our system all the way through to first grade along as signing talented players outside of our catchment.

Welcome back, Peter!
Indeed we are improving #2015Premiers
Good times ahead.
He's bringing great form with him????
Mate the Sharks are a complete basket case in terms of management, and I guess you could say on field as well. His treatment by Gallen is a case in point. With a somewhat stabilised board and management I think it is a great acquisition.
brissy, should Gallen have been so public about it though? The club is a mess!
I totally understand Gallen's frustrations. Peter Sharp stated that he didn't want the head coaching position, after Flanagan was banned for 12months. Why would you give the job to someone who obviously didn't want it? (I know it was about saving $$). It just shows the have NFI! There are heaps of issues there and I agree they need some REAL LEADERSHIP at the top.
I somewhat agree brissyeel. But if it was my team and my captain said the head coach wasn't putting in on radio I'd probably crack it a bit. But Sharpe obviously didn't want the job but was forced into it due mismanagement at Sharks and there declaration that Flanagan would be back.
Exactly, Sharpe was never wanted as head coach at the Sharks and was doomed along with the club as soon as they re-signed Flanno to a 3 year deal. This is a position he wanted to take at Parramatta, he hasn't been forced into making a decision he didn't want to make, hopefully he can perform to the best of his ability and he can retain the best young talent coming through and sign others from other competitions to play in our district reps.
