  • hmmm my vote would be tim mannah , it would be healthy to start fresh with a long term captain
  • I just thought it was for this match only as its Hindy's record breaking game.
  • Seriously I think the place is ruled by these two Nathans, and both are playing busted or just plain tired.

Cayless had a go last night, still not good enough but they haven't done much this year and as much as it saddens me to say watching Hindy play last night, he looked like a veteran. I can’t fault his defence, but please don’t hand him the ball in an attacking position.....he is too s l o w

I suppose you need to give it to someone who will be on the field most of the time, and someone who is going to get picked week in week out so how about L Burt springs to mind. He is one of the mature guys and is liked by the whole team and will never get dropped. M E E 2010. I like T Mannah also, but many will say he is still too young and doesn't start the game.
  • The place is ruled by the two Nathans because between them they have played over 450 first grade games. I say wait till the team is playing better before we start questioning the ability of two club legends to perform their role as captain.

All the players in the side look up to these two guys so they are the natural choice for this season at least. I seriously havent seen enough leadership in Luke Burt to believe he can captain the side...... actually im trying to remember the last time a winger captained a first grade team?

I can understand your sentiments Gina but Burt is not a captain, The two Nathans it shall remain.
    • here,here Daneel
    • The L Burt thing is was just plucking at straws, because I seriously don't believe that B Smith should be our next captain either as N Cayless suggested in the media, and going through the rest of the squad no one really jumps out also, that was my only reason for choosing L Burt really.

Don't get me wrong I know that both Nathans have done alot for our team over the years, but sometimes being at a place for a long time can set you in your ways.
  • I think they will opt for co-captaincy for the remainder of the season. Such a move would make way for more flexibility in our starting line up and apprentices Hindy for the captaincy next year. To choose this game, under the guise of a reward to Hindy for reaching this benchmark, is a great move to stem the flow of further reports of a club in crisis.
  • wtf
  • How about Reddy for captain? Not including this week's indiscretion the guy never puts a foot wrong and is very level-headed.
  • Hindy to play his most games for the eels this week = WHY NOT.
