Shacks

Quick question and Phil feel free to delete this blog.

But from memory i heard shacks is hopeful of returning in time for the finals IF we make it, with the revelation of Horo, honestly who would bite the bullet. Do u think we could have one of our major off season signings playing park footy come september?

  • Unless he can get a few lower grade games in first and really impresses I don't think he should get a run unless really needed.
  • That wont be fair the players will be working there butts off to get to the semis. And for him to expect to just get into the team just like that he can keep dreaming. The only way he will be in, if there is an injury or someone else is playing really bad footy.End of story
    • You say that as if Shacks is the 'bad guy' in this situation. Come finals time, we will field the best team we can. If that includes Shacks at the expense of someone else, then so be it.
    • If shack trains his ass off in rehab and training just to get back earllier u think it would be fair not to put him in the side?
  • we will need the depth come finals time
  • Its a long way off so we don't know what the situation re injuries to other players will be, but assuming we are performing well with the same team we fielded on the weekend and Shack is coming back on not match fit, he'd probably struggle to get back into the team.

A long way to go before that and a lot of ifs though. I'll trust that Ando will make the right selections when the time comes.
  • Hey BBG. Im not sure why you felt this blog should possibly be deleted?
Shack suffered a terrible injury. I'd be very surprised if he returned this year. If he did, I honestly dont think he would have the fitness to return and play at the pace that finals football requires.

If he had hurt an arm etc... he could at least work on fitness during his recovery, however the nature of his injury prevents any real fitness work. I have a feeling Tinkerbell will have to wait till next year to wave the "Love Shack" sign.
    • Daneel! Welcome back!

There is a blog a few pages back regarding the Eels BBQ on Friday. Have a read and you will have a giggle. Suffice to say, Shack knows I exist and I got to wave my sign. :-) :-)

The reason for this blog was probably because I mentioned that Shacks is 3 weeks ahead of recovery - this might mean he could potentially be back for September - in terms of match fitness though, this might be problematic.
  • Hey Tinkerbell!!! Thanks for the welcome back. Ive got so much to catch up on..... and sooooo happy we won on the weekend! Yay!!!
  • Im pretty sure shack would have only just started rehab, i think they said 6 weeks before he starts.

"We need a 5/8 who can be general kicker of the football.
Doueihi fits the bill as a signing, I love a big body 5/8.
if I'm the Eels I'm in the market for aggressive footballers , it's something that we lack significantly across the park.
