SENIOR SQUAD - POSSIBLE TEAM LISTS, ROUND 1

If everybody in our senior squad was fit for round 1, I would like to see the following top two teams selected.  The trials and off season operations may change the teams up a little as Gutherson and possibly Williams may not be ready to go.  BA could go with two no.9's in the top team or Smith as a utility off the bench.  Vave may return to the top team and a guy like Williams (if very fit) could leap from a number of forwards and end up on the bench in the top team if BA wants that extra size.  It would not surprise me if young Stone leap frogs a number of senior NRL players if he dominates the trials.  I would trial Takairangi on the wing in the trial games as he has the size to ruck the ball out of the red zone well and he could interchange with Hayne throughout the game as he regularly did with Semi.  What our squad does scream is depth and I think our top two teams look the strongest I've ever seen and there should be good competition for places in the top team.  Lets cross our fingers with injuries in 2018 as our previous five seasons has been injury plagued.

1.  Gutherson       1.  Hoffman

2.  French             2.  Auva'a

3.  Jennings          3.  Davis

4.  Hayne              4.  D.Aukofolau

5.  Takairangi        5.  Lelesiuao

6.  Norman            6.  Salmon

7.  Moses              7.  Smith

8.  Mannah            8.  Terepo

9.  King                  9.  K.Pritchard

10.  Evans             10.  Matagi

11.  Ma'u               11.  Williams

12.  Moeroa           12.  Gower

13.  Brown             13.  Stone

14.  Scott               14.  G.Jennings

15.  Edwards         15.  Morris

16.  Alvaro             16.  Niukore

17.  Vave               17.  Ualesi

  • I think come round 1 this will be the team. 1.hayne 2.french 3.jennings 4.takairangi 5.a'uva 6.norman 7. Moses 8.alvaro 9.king 10.mannah 11.mau 12.maeroa 13.brown 14.smith 15.scott 16.edwards 17.evans
    • You could be right.  BA has hinted that Gutherson will be given extra rehab and held back and Smith could be the new no.14 utility.

I personally prefer French on the wing as his ability to score tries from the wing is exceptional, and because Hayne is a stronger one on one defender then French at the back.

    • Semi????
  • I saw Nathan Broen at The Entrance this morning getting coffee. Two things, firstly he is bigger in person than he looks on the field and secondly he looks really fit. Not carrying any excess at all

I was going to ask him for a selfie but thought I would let him be
    • Nathan Brown
    • If Brown improves and goes to that next level we will be a top 2 team.

    • He is a real worker and had very impressive numbers last year
    • I saw vince colosimo @ Palm Beach yesterday
    • Big Dave absolutely. Chief was he in leg irons
  • Thanks for this BD. shows that BA has got us primed & ready for some serious time at the top of the heap. Bush coach? Piffle!! -  How many other clubs out there would kill to get this guy? He's turned us from a basket case to serious contenders in 3 years.

"Riley is stronger which is why he is starting. Ryles has been hesitant playing smith for the full 80 (even before  signing tds, there were games that we had hopgood relieve him for a spell).
Only thing TDS does better than Riley is support up…"

"True Macy, I'm with you. The only thing i can see is that he is young   only 20 years old and may have a big upside as he progresses. Rylie Smith 23 years old plays out of his skin. Love his work rate."

"Considering Roosters kept full strength for decent portion of 2nd half and didn't score when we pulled Moses off. Nice work. We look confident."
