Semi radradra "Fijian hymn"

Hey guys,Was talking to my brother and we both agreed it'd be amazing if there was a group of supporters that would sing along with the Fijian hymn every time it plays after semi scores.Anyone have any clue how to find it? Or what the lyrics are?Cheers

  • Well I was at the tigers game, and the chant above us was "Pass it to Semi"
  • That was from the 1EE box
    • And they passed and kicked it to him. The box changed the course of the game!
  • Any Fijian song sung after Semi scores would be brilliant. I recogn it would bring tears to his eyes. We will all need to be wearing grass skirts though.
  • What about the hymn the national team sing before a match? It's called Noqu masu

    I Jiova
    Uuuu........... uuuuuu
Oqo na noqu masu , noqu masu
Na noqu masu, ka niu sa gadreva (gadreva dina sara)
Meu sere taka rawa na yacai Jiova
    I Jiova , I Jiova
Ni vukei au , ni vukei au mada
Veika au vaqara, meu sere ga ( Gagadre ni yaloqu)
    Au mai tagicaka
    Uuuuu
    Halelluya
  • It's not a hymn but a Party song is called "Waidebala" by Fijian Group, Black Rose. Although it's Fijian, All other islanders (Samoans, Tongans, etc) love it even though they don't understand a word of it. My Fijian Mate told me it's a song about having a Good Time with Family & Friends and the laid back Fijian Islander Lifestyle.
Here's a link to the YouTube Clip which actually has Fijian Lyrics on it: http://youtu.be/HBhxUwPgQnU - Enjoy & Good Luck learning the words, killer song though :)
    • Found the lyrics too:

      Waidebala bala o waidebala bala
Au dau au dau digia nomui yabe ena vei mataka
Isa o vuni moli, moli lei o vuni moli, moli
Au dau, au dau digia nomui yabe ena vei vei bogi

Isa o vuni moli, moli lei o vuni moli, moli
Au dau, au dau digia nomui yabe ena vei vei bogi
Nomui loloma, loma I na tamavua river
River ni sole sole sole sole
      Na rua au dau kamica

      Waidebala bala o waidebala bala
Au dau au dau digia nomui yabe ena vei mataka
Nomui loloma, loma I na tamavua river
River ni sole sole sole sole
      Na rua au dau kamica
    • Legend!

      Thanks mate.
  • Yeh, after trying to pronounce the first line I think I'm just going to stick to the Semi, Semi chant which last game I might add stretched beyond the Swarm and into the stand above...

    • Practice makes perfect! Me and my brother are definitely gonna give learning it a go. Gonna have to listen to the song a fair bit (lucky it isn't that bad a song IMO) and hopefully others will catch on when we sing it out at the games!
