Semi Radradra - couple of days

Parramatta Eels extend Semi Radradra’s leave, according to managera few seconds agoby STAFF WRITERS AND AAPSource: FOX SPORTSSEMI Radradra will be a no-show at Parramatta training on Wednesday morning, with his manager confirming the club has granted the star winger extra leave.“I want to inform you that Semi won’t be at training today as previously expected,” his manager, George Christodoulou, told foxsports.com.au via a text message.“He failed to get on his flight last night and is still in Fiji.“(Eels coach) Brad (Arthur) has subsequently given him an extra couple days off to remain in Fiji with his family.“He will still be taking his place in the team against the Sharks this weekend.“Semi remains committed to the eels for the remainder of his current contract expiring in 2017 and will not be going to French rugby or anywhere else whilst under contract.”The Eels face Cronulla at 7:30pm on Saturday night.'Semi should be banned''Semi should be banned'0:49The two-time reigning Dally M winger of the year had been granted leave to return to his native Fiji during the club’s bye week amid reports he had told friends and family he would not return.Top 14 club Bordeaux have reportedly tabled an offer for the Australian Test flyer worth $35,000 per game, with the added bonus of it being tax free.According to Fairfax Media, the Eels are seeking $700,000 in compensation should he walk out on the club. The club would ask $500,000, the worth of his remaining contract, which expires at the end of next year, as well as $200,000 in damages.Semi Radradra in action for the Eels.Semi Radradra in action for the Eels.Source: Getty ImagesThe deal is similar to the one struck by Sonny Bill Williams following his infamous walk out on Canterbury in 2008.Radradra was on Tuesday named in coach Brad Arthur’s side to take on the table-topping Cronulla at Shark Park on Saturday night. After Radradra left the country and reports of his departure from the NRL flared, the club said his mid-season sojourn had been planned and he would be back in time to take on the Sharks.Should he fail to turn up at the Eels’ training centre at North Parramatta on Wednesday, it would cast doubt on his future in rugby league. However, it would not be the first time he has returned late from a trip to Fiji. The club could issue Radradra with a breach notice - just a day after Kieran Foran was issued a similar notice and stripped of the captaincy for failing to fulfil his commitments over his rehabilitation from a shoulder injury.

  • Money talks
    Fine him the max
Sacking him gets him out of contract for free

Semi you had a lot of good will here
    Good will = $
    You are blowing it
Not too late to repair but need to stop listening to your manager
    • I think his manager has started something he can no longer control. He knows there will be repercussions but can't seem to convey that message to Semi.
  • He's not coming back.
B Faraimo will replace semi against the sharks
    • I think Faraimo is injured/

  • The part where he goes to France
  • The telegraph reckons he won't be back until Friday at the earliest
  • Foran gets fined $5K for missing a massage and getting on the cans but Semi gets to extend his holidays by refusing to come home and all is peachy....go figure.
  • Has anyone stopped for just ONE second to consider that Semi's dad may be in very bad health and the club is looking after him, while NOT publicly airing Semi's turmoil?

Has anyone stopped for even 2 seconds to consider that Semi is trying to get his dad to Oz for better medical treatment and it is not going smoothly for the family?

Has anyone on here just stopped to THINK?

    • That might be true Col, but regardless Semi said early this week he didnt know if he was coming back.

I think his manager had a plan to earn him more money, Semi left and now the manager realises Semi will have to pay fines etc if he walks away and is trying to work out a way forward.

Whatever happens he will not be looked on the same way, too many people have said his intentions to chase money have been happening all year and everything he's done is based on $$$ eg Aust Jersey.

I cant help it, but Ive lost respect for the big guy. He fooled me, I thought he was happy and thankful for the opportunity the club gave him.

  • Did you ring Semi then Rider?

Once again - media release from people who are wrong more often than not.

Mate my point is, until we hear directly from Semi, or from the club that he is gone then we are lynching the guy on speculation only.

I am also dubious if it was Semi who went chasing the money or whether his manager thought he could get himself an easier ride.

The way Christofoolery scrambled to save his own arse after the NRL started making noises about losing his brief just doesn't sit well with me.

You have (like so many others) made an emotional decision based on WHAT facts?

Has the Fat Lady even entered the auditorium?

If it is on the net then it becomes irrefutable fact - if it is reported by the media then it becomes irrefutable fact - if it concerns the Eels it is making someone else a hefty profit.

I am not saying he is not ready to, or not considering walking out - I am saying at this point in time WE HAVE NO FACTS to confirm or deny these claims.

I really did expect better from you mate.
