Semi Leaving according to his sister

http://www.fijitimes.com/story.aspx?id=359040PARRAMATTA Eels star,Semi Radradra is leaving for a nine months contract with a French Rugby Club, after the Round 17 of the National Rugby League competition in Australia.Elder sister Vaseva Waqavatu confirmed this yesterday.Speaking from Taveuni, she said their parents were aware of Radradra's sudden switch because of personal issues.Waqavatu said her brother flew into the country on Saturday after he was granted permission to visit his family."Semi had discussed his move with my parents and we are supporting him 100 per cent," the Year 2 schoolteacher said.Waqavatu said Radradra would return to Australia for the Eels match against Cronulla on July 2.She added he would be in Taveuni later this week to spend some time with his parents and sibblings. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that it was understood the Eels were willing to consider allowing him to play in France from August until next April on the condition that he will return to the Eels for the next three seasons. It was also reported that the 24-year-old's departure to Fiji last weekend, had been compared to Sonny Bill Williams sensationally walking out on Canterbury in 2008 to play rugby union for Toulon in France.A statement issued on Saturday night by the Parramatta Eels stated that they expected Radradra to return before the Cronulla match."The Parramatta Eels can confirm that Semi Radradra has been granted permission to return to Fiji for a short family visit during the bye round," the statement said."He is expected to return to Sydney in time to prepare for the club's next NRL game against Cronulla."Semi Radradra is contracted to play for Parramatta Eels until the end of the 2017 season, and has given no indication that the contract will not be honoured."

  • Let's just wait until we hear from Semi himself. Until then it's all media speculation.
  • More media hype. He has said him self the Eels gave him his start and he would not have the oppertunities he has if it was not for the Eels. They have changed not only his life but his whole family and his peoples lives. So once again the media trying to stir the pot with crap.
  • So he's coming back to play against Cronulla then leaving to play rugby in France for nine months!!!

So did his manager tell him that's an option "look Semi you can go play rugby for a few months earn the cash that i should of been getting you by doing my f**kn job, then come back and play for parra" no wonder this dope George Christodoulou has gone a little quiet....since he found out that can't happen!!! Semi then goes and tells his sister and bingo we have a story!!!

He needs a new agent and needs one real fast!!

    • That's 100% what's going on here. I guarantee you that's it's the fucking manager that's begging all this shit.
    • *behind
    • Bart, I read the article by his sister, in the sense that he has discussed his future with his family, & while they are 100% behind his decision, I would add "whatever that decision may be" To the average Fijian they treasure honour, & very much the father is the head & usually spokesperson for the family, unusual that a sister is saying this as a family response.

My suspicion is that Semi is wanting his family & especially his father to move to Australia for medical attention, & as they would not be able to get insurance, along with our governments rules that prevent sick overseas people coming here to live owing to the burden on our medical system, it means that someone has to have the money to pay for his treatment, & it would need a top doc at that.

I have no doubt the eels are working with Semi to upgrade his contract that will help, I would also be surprised if the NRL was also involved owing to compassionate grounds to allow Semi to play in France for a single off season providing he agrees to fulfilling his eels/NRL contract obligations.

The one thing that is likely to also come of this is the role of his manager, who has stayed quiet, if he has been trying to influence Semi unduly then he could lose his accreditation, if seen not to be looking after his clients best interests, which could mean he could change agents.

  • Seems to only represent Fijians, has Nabuli & Waja on his books. He owns cafes in Sydney and is a player manager 'on the side'
  • George Christodoulou....Next Gen Management, Kenny Dowel is his only other big client

  • I think he also has nabuli and waqa Blake.
  • The French rugby thing can't happen. The NRL wouldn't allow it. And remember SBW didn't just walk away it cost him $750,000 to break his contract.

Semi will be back. I'm sure his head is swimming with personal issues but he'll be ok.
