Seasons 22 and 23 is our window

While some on this site may have expected we could win over the last few years I have not expected any better than top 8. To me one of Melbourne Penrith South's or Roosters where always going to win.  Manly where the surprise. What the end of the year showed was how close we are. The nominations for players of the year showed where we stand in terms of individual capability. On paper Melbourne should have been unbeatable. Finally we are seeing some juniors coming through. Technically they may be a year away but by end of next season they may be good enough. Looking at other teams Melbourne Penrith and South's and the Roosters will be weaker next year. A few of the lesser sides Bulldogs and Broncos will be stronger. The key for us is how well Dunster and Penisini go but more importantly at least one of the other juniors must come good. The biggest risk for us next year is Manly who are in a similar place to us but offer more in attack.

Parramatta to be in GF next year

    • Well, that's obvious Frank, if we lose but the boys appear to be playing for the coach, then that's good enough to extend BA's tenor.

We don’t need a board or a CEO, according to some, the players decide who the coach is.

The lunatics run the asylum, according to some, we have a squad that can win a comp, they just haven’t. According to some, we risk losing premiership winning players if we replace the coach. According to some, there are no better options to coach the team, we have a coach that has been given 8 years to produce, can we do worse? According to some, not a single soul exists on this planet that could possible do better.

A dumb ass could assume that over paid players would be happy to stay with a club regardless of the coach, players would prefer to stay with their current playing group and club regardless of the coach and elite players preferring to sign with other clubs because of the coach.

      • Hey Joe....

        Hope you been well bud.

Yes it's definitely a fork in the road moment for the club over the next 12/24 months. All I see is a limited coach hiding behind his players whilst scoring contract extensions, that coincidently happens to be aligned perfectly with the core playing squads new contracts. And then we also have the core playing group essentially dictating to our club who the coach will be....

I thought as a club we announced to all and sundry that we had changed our culture and limited the influence of players on crucial decisions like this - well obviously we are all mistaken and it's alive and well at Parra. Maybe Haynes still lurking in the sheds?

The status quo remains and as long as our CEO and board remain BALL-LESS, this will remain the culture moving forward.

I do have high hopes though, given how the players finished off the season. The key will now be how they convert that into a successful premiership campaign in 2022. I want to truly believe and hope we are in 2022 but that empty feeling we all have as Parra fans slaps us bsck into reality by week 2 of the semis every single year unfortunately.

Lets see what happens in 2022 - fail and BA must go.

        • I hear you Frank, I have high hopes every year too, without hope we have nothing which is what we have won since 86.
Who knows, you would think that when you have a 1 in 17 chance of winning, your number will eventually come up. I just hope I’m still alive to enjoy the moment with my kids.

    • No we will extend the window by a year....😆😆

  • We can dream I guess. Why the fuck not hey

  • Next year, I promise you, or would you belive the one after that, how about the next decade? Nek Minut it is 35 years.
