  • He's been a good club man whilst he's been here. Can't fault him wanting to lock down a first grade spot on decent coin. I hope he goes well, he's a solid player.

The Bears roster and coach combo look pretty rough so far. It could be a baptism of fire for their NRL debut. Why oh why they gave a job to Meninga of all people astounds me - he's demonstrably a bad coach/figurehead and is far from a smart operator. It's hard to take the NRL seriously with the amount of jobs for the boys that happen.

  • Could be the death nail for a career going over there the coaching I don't rate and the halves look the same not much they must be getting desperate a 4 year big money deal but good luck to him we have others coming through so I don't think JR would be to worried

  • Personally I think JAC is to credit for his form. Yes Russel put the hard work in. But Olam came a Dally M centre when JAC was next to him. When JAC left storm, Olam got dropped from the team and I recon not having JAC next to him was a big reason. So I recon JR wants to find a talented centre that will work hard and let JAC do his magic. I would be getting Bloomfield at left centre training next to JAC asap to fast track his development. He probably has the highest ceiling out of all our centres

  • Just before people start complaining about us losing Zain Alamadine to Dogs. He is no big loss at all. He is a halfback that played HM this year for us. He got dropped during the middle of the year for a different halfback. Risati was the main half anyway despite playing 5/8. Plus Alamadine is only SG ball eligible in 2026 but he won't be playing over Fletcher and Risati in the halves. Plus Bamblett and Davis are already fighting over the fullback spot unless Bamblett starts in JF. Every time a junior changes club the media will always say that it is a "talented" junior.

    • Yer the media make shit up like it's the end of the world same with Russell you are always going to lose players just keeping the ones you really want is the trick

      • Russell until 2031 is utterly ridiculous.  Id hate to think of the amount of the amount of retaliation the club would get if we'd matched the bears offer.

5 year deals are only reserved for current Origin type players,  or younger guns who have unlimited upside.   Russell comes nowhere near either category.
