Big game tonight.
As much as I don't want the Sea Eagles to win I will be watching with interest on the performances of Foran and Hasson.
If anything, Manly has proved is there is a world of difference between a side without one or two stars in it.
Earlier in the season they struggled without Foran due to injury, but since his return and also Jamie Lyon they have hit some form at the right time.
It's easy to be critical of the Eels but Manly were losing games with DCE at half and still with a pretty good quality side.
I guess the point of this blog is that I think every side must have two or three pivotal players that they need to win. These guys need solid guys around them but ultimately there are some players that can turn an average or below average NRL side into a great one.
Manly has Foran, Lyon and Stewart. DCE is a great player but he's not a player that makes other players around him better.
The Rabbits have Inglis, Adam Reynolds and perhaps Isaac Luke.
You look at the top sides and they have these types of players.
The Storm will struggle because they don't have Slater, Not just for his ability but also his leadership.
The Eels only had one, (Jarryd Hayne) and he wasn't what you call a leader more of just a great athlete. This year we have had some quality player but they have all missed that one player who makes them better.
For me Kieran Foran is the best player in the game at the moment and he is the ingredient that will make or good players great.
Guys like Hopoate,Radradra, Watmough, Peats, Norman, Gordon, Scott, Edwards, Ma'u, will all feed off the work of Foran and bring their performances out.
I expect tonight that Foran won't do too much flashy stuff but you watch how he works with other players. He's not an individual, he's a footballer, and he is the guy the Eels have been missing.
An actual leader, not just a captain.

Go Manly. I'm starting to dislike Souths.
The best player in the game currently by a country mile is Johnathon Thurston!
Yes but in regards to signing a player. I would rather sign Kieran Foran than Thurston at this point in time
Thurston is a fossil
I would take JT ahead of Foz any day of the week or year currently!
investment nearly gone
