Every week I will be assessing the matches and rating the players accordingly and over the season their rating will be added up to determine the player that wins the prestigious award.
I will be personally sending the player that wins the award an engraved trophy at the end of the season to congratulate them on their efforts throughout the year.
Down to business anyway, after watching the game again and closely picking through the stats I have come up with the following ratings for the win over Brisbane.
1 - Clint Gutherson = 7/10, steady game, didn't seem to get into the match.
2 - Maika Sivo = 6/10, some strong carries but mistakes let him down.
3 - Tom Opacic = 6/10, nothing flash, did a job.
4 - Waqa Blake = 5/10, went largely unnoticed.
5 - Blake Ferguson = 8/10, great game, good to see him happy again.
6 - Dylan Brown = 6/10, some nice cover tackles, needs to improve attacking game.
7 - Mitch Moses = 7/10, showed maturity in the way he closed out the game, didn't get into the game with how it was played.
8 - Reagan Campbell-Gillard = 6/10, steady, bit worried the game doesn't suit his style anymore.
9 - Reed Mahony = 9.5/10, only thing he didn't do was score a hat trick, outstanding!
10 - Junior Paulo = 8/10, didn't think he had that great of an impact on the game like he usually does.
11 - Shaun Lane = 3/10, struggling for form.
12 - Ryan Matterson = 6/10, steady.
13 - Nathan Brown = 6/10, struggled to make his usual impact.
14 - Oregon Kaufusi = 7/10, thought he made some nice carries.
15 - Isaiah Papali'i = 8.5/10, great impact, good find!
16 - Keegan Hipgrave = 5/10, went a bit unnoticed for mine.
17 - Will Smith = 1/10, no fault of his, just never got the opportunity.
Man of the match = Reed Mahoney.
Have a good week everyone and go Parra!
Thanks,
Scott

Papali'i would be my choice. Without his work, Reed wouldn't have been able to be so effective
I read the title as "Scott Gregs Player Of The Year" and immediately thought: No fekkin way!
Think you forgot there are 2 half of footy.
You have my vote for the funniest blog of the year!
I am just picturing in my head the 'winner' of this prestigious award receiving the trophy reading the engraving "Winner of the 2021 Scott Greggs Player of the Year", looking up in confusion saying "WTF?"
What do you mean he's being serious? Oh sorry, a great idea Scott can't wait for the next installment. Do we need tickets for the presentation night?
With Covid restrictions and the 4 square meter rule only Scott will be able to attend as he is holding it in a phone box
LOL..... who will win the Slipper AAE
I like this pops but depends on the rain and how much Rosehill gets
Shit that must be 50/1 is it? but Kiamachi (spell) won it on a couple of years back off the same form and a heavy track!
I like Profiteer.....not much imagination I know .....Stay Inside the danger .....still not much imagination.
Box those 2 with the field to run 3rd in the trifecta......cost about $40
Wheelhouse in the Guineas?
