Two months ago I was just happy to see us play well and win a game.
Its amazing how quickly expectations rise. We must not forget what a great 6 weeks of footy the EELs have given us.
Footy's great when the EELs are smashing opponents.
On our form throughout the ENTIRE year, Parramatta probably do not deserve to be in the finals. The early part of our season was poor and we struggled. However, in recent weeks there has been a huge turnaround. I am so proud of all our boys and the way they are playing. There has been a change in confidence, mindset and attitude which will have us in a wonderful place next year! If we do make the finals, it is a credit to the dedication of the entire Eels club (and I like to think its supporters too!!)
We need to enjoy this and if we have any hope of making the finals, we just need to concentrate on getting through each game, week by week.
We do have very high expectations though and as Eels fans we're waiting for the next premiership. We're playing as well as we've ever played and in our current form could beat any other team. There are no guarantees. Even winning the next 2 games doesn't ensure a spot in the finals.
I've been back in the country for 6 weeks and we're yet to lose a game. It has been nice to return to this kind of form and weekly entertainment.
