  • All three would slot straight back in at their absolute best.
    • x2

  • It depends what era of those players you are referring to? Do you mean when they were at their peaks?

Nathan Hindmarsh in 2001 was 22 years old. He played 27 games and scored 7 tries. He played left edge forward and was fast, could break the line, could tackle all day and would absolutely replace any of our current backrowers. You would play him on the left edge, move Mau onto the right and drop Tepai, unless you want to carry 2 backrowers on the bench? Kenny is pretty effective coming off the bench.

Jarryd Hayne circa 2009 or 2014 would easily be our fullback. Bevan French can still be effective playing right wing like we saw when Gutherson was our fullback. In 2009 he played 26 games and scored 14 tries. In 2014 he played 21 games and scored 20 tries. 2014 Hayne probably had better defense and was thus a more well rounded player, but 2009 Hayne had tonnes of linebreaks and was an attacking machine. Either era of player would replace Bevan at fullback.

As for Luke Burt I find him hard to slot in over Semi, while Luke Burt was a crafty player and an excellent goal kicker he lacks the size and athletic ability Semi has so I would probably leave Burt out of the team, as much as I like him.

  • Are we talking about at their peak ? Or now ?
  • In their prime, absolutely.
  • I'd have Brown at 13. A couple of other current players would be looking to get on there as the season progresses (King, Bevo).
  • Tim Smith 05 ?
  • Sorry, but Jamie Lyon don't deserve to be anywhere near a parra jersey.
  • Nup, none of them.

We didn't win a comp with any of them and actually won a couple of spoons. There's a reason for that.

  • Absolutely. All 3 slot straight in. Good question but an easy answer

In our well-justified praise of Ryley Smith, there is a big thing being missed: his ability to read the game and footy IQ.
