Sandow a scapegoat?

I'm not a Sandow fan, I didnt like him at Souths and don't at Parra. But I can't help think everytime the coach is under pressure they drop him and use him as an excuse for their poor coaching. If memory serves me right SK, Dick Stuart and now BA Baraccas is doing the same thing. It's the precursor to the coach being asked to leave and Sandow has survived them all .........so far.

  • Sandow hasn't lived up to the hype. Had he performed to his billing then the club would done anything in its power to hide what occurred with the car incident. Sandow has been living on borrowed time. Time to cut ties.
  • He's only hung around mate as it would cost too much to pay him out. I am a Sandow fan and love watching him play. But as Sterlo said tonight that when your main playmaker has a bad game he should only get a 7.5 out of 10, but Samdow is playing lots of 6 games. When he's on, he's on. When he's not he's bloody awful.
    • Sterlo is a great judge of halfbacks.....he rated Kelly as the answer.
    • Exactly Choco. Sandow is exciting to watch, but it would have been too expensive to move him on early, and to where?

    • Well, Mason and the reporter said he'd struggle to find a club. Anasta said his only chance was the Sharks.
  • I liked Sandow at Souths. I was happy when we bought him and expected great things. SK and Ricky had him for the first half of a high paying 4 year deal. I think they dropped him to teach him a lesson about getting his act together. I don't think they could have got rid of him if they wanted to, with his contract. But anyway, who cares. I doubt we'll extend Sandows contract and fire BA, if that's what you're saying...

  • C'mon all you stats guys.

How many games have we won WITHOUT Chrissy in the team?

I will admit it might not be a strong argument because we certainly have lost more when he is playing - but Sandow isn't the one letting in ALL the tries against us.

I can see where you are coming from with this Davos

  • I totally agree.  Our forward pack is the problem not our halves.  Out of 9 games our forward pack has only dominated on 3 occasions.  As DCE and Foran are currently experiencing if you don't have a forward pack that can dominate on a regular basis it doesn't matter how good your halves and backline are!

We have a small pack without Jr Paulo, Pauli, Moeroa, Lussick and Edwards and we struggle to win the ruck and make decent metres over the advantage line (particularly without Jr Paulo).

Additionally, it is becoming very obvious how much Hayne propped up our team.

    • I thought the Hayne factor was pretty obvious last year, when we lost him through Origin games. That loss to the Warriors in NZ was shocking...

    • Agree mate I think a lot of people thought that we had this awesome forward pack, reality small with not much lateral movement.
