For starters,  BA should stand in front of the fans and apologise for seemingly another season lost, as to go into any season without a recognised 7 back up is suicidal .

Sanders is now the only possible way out of this situation as having two five eights trying to organise obviously doesn't work  Dylan has never been an organiser and his kicking game doesn't stand up.

Talagi has very little experience even at 6 and played mainly centres in nsw cup .

Sanders being straight out of sg ball, isn't ready for the rigours in one of the toughest physical sports, but the club has absolutely no other choice but to give him the 7 jersey, otherwise our season will be over before it began. They'll have to hide him in d and let him play his natural game in attack.

If we can win 40 or 50 % of matches they'll still be hope.  With our current halves we'll be lucky to win 10%

Harper also needs to go, offers very little in attack, Sivo also his usual lethargic runs out of the back field

  • Sorry Chief but it is not. The kid won't do much for us scoring points.

  • It's only round 4, we've lost 2 of our most potent attacking players who play next to each other so allow a bit of adjustment time. They also had 2 tough games the prior weeks. Let's see how they bounce back before we write off the season

    • Al good point, but a loss next week and I'm around 95% certain to write it off as it will hamper our confidence even more.

      • I don't believe the boys were flogged in the pre season as much as  in previous years. The Penrith and Manly games were intense and could have taken more out of them then many realise. Typical Eel supporters, panicking prematurely

        • Al, you are saying possibly losing the next 4, then Brisbane and Melbourne after the bye where we could lose them even with Moses we will come up the other side? I would have even had Canberra as a potential loss even with Moses just due to our history there.

If we pull off a win next week, it would be impressive honestly and can lead us into possibly getting 1 or 2 more. But a loss can resemble late 2021 where we went on the 4-5 game skid, we recovered but had enough wins at the time. Getting to round 10 with possibly 6-7 losses from 9 makes it practically sudden death from then on out for top 4. Makes it harder also for top 8 where we have to up for that long we will be faitgued come finals. We saw last year how it can effect a team starting off slow.

I think it is very fair to panic.

          • It doesn't scare me to go down to Canberra any more LB. We've won 2 of our last 3 and last year ref Atkins put his prints all over that game

I do think some are panicking. We had a brand new right edge, a limping left edge, the game plan wasn't adhered to and it was a mistakeathon by our standards.  We did everything possible to lose and only just managed to do it.

There will be big improvements next week not just with attitude but also game management. They won't shoot themselves in the foot two weeks in a row. They'll bounce back

  • Sanders is slowly adapting to Cup. He is a long way from saving an NRL season .BA needs to back Blaize and let him play . Pretend he's Jake and let him play his natural game rather than the attack running through Gutho and Junior Paulo. Would've much rather see Blaize have a shot in attacking scums rather than junior throwing harbour bridge passes to no one .

    • Talagi isn't the problem.

      It's Brown at 7 that's the problem.

He had the chance to take control and organise things but he can't do it.

      He is a running 5/8.

      Nothing more nothing less.

      • When reflecting on the game. I think Lussick was more of a factor than DB. I Will rewatch the game first

        • Don't get me wrong EA. Lussick was deplorable at hooker. In fact our hookers have been dogshit since Mahoney left but it was DB'S job as the halfback to take control of the game and he went missing big time.
