THE Broncos will not be bullied by Parramatta again, with makeshift hooker Sam Thaiday declaring Brisbane’s beaten forwards are looking for redemption.

The Eels will head to Suncorp Stadium on Thursday night to face Brisbane in a potentially spiteful affair.

The title contenders clashed on July 28 at ANZ Stadium with the hosts shaking off a 12-0 deficit to win 28-14.

The Eels secured victory by bashing the Broncos and getting under their skin, chief enforcer Kenny Edwards rattling Brisbane with his niggling tactics.

Kenny Edwards and the Eels rattled the Broncos forwards.

The Broncos have won their three games since and were strong in defence against the Dragons on Friday night.

Thaiday, who has started at hooker since Andrew McCullough suffered a knee injury in the Eels game, said the Broncos would not be rattled again.

“We played the Eels not long ago now so we can go back, look at the tape and fix a lot of things we should have got right,” he said.

Sam Thaiday during a Broncos training session.

“We stopped playing down there. We got caught up in the emotion of the game when we should have just been the Broncos and won the game.

“They were definitely physical. The Eels are a team that if you give them an inch they run a mile.

“What we’ve built over the last three weeks is being very tough defensively and we have to make sure we continue that.”

Eels lock Nathan Brown felled Broncos winger Jonus Pearson with a swinging arm before Edwards slammed him on the ground.

The Broncos have not forgotten about it, setting the scene for an explosive return bout which Brisbane must win to stay second on the ladder.

  • Did Blair get any penalty for his shoulder charge - what was the difference between his shoulder charge an Ma'u's
    • I believe the difference was the jersey.

  • I'm a bit worried about this game, ever since we got them it's been on my mind! Let's hope the boys turn up and control Brisbane fasts starts otherwise they'll blow us off the park
    • I'm not......I was actually more confident about playing the Broncos then playing the Knights or Titans.

I'm pretty sure the guys will lift for this game - they always do for the better sides...

  • They got bullied by the Dragons forwards friday night, the Dragons were just too shitful to take advantage.

    • Reckon that's a great point you mentioned, re the passage defending our line Mick. How many sets was that?
Just gotta keep "Effen turning up for each other" I guess :)
  • Looking forward to this one. I honestly think the last game was the match of the season so far. Nathan Brown was immense.
  • We will truly know if we a a contender or not with this game .
Broncos are a gun side , won't take us lightly as we beat them only recently and from comments in this article are primed for a big one .

"Yea he is mainly a 5/8, If Lorenzo for some reason fails, Risati is the next option. He is a bigger body than Lorenzo with a great running and passing game. He turns 18 next year so will be in SG Ball alongside Fletcher.
Long term, I belive we can…"

"EA, do you have any thoughts on Risati? Heard big raps on him. The way people talk about him, he could be a long-term six solution, alongside Fletcher at seven. Who knows. We're talking years down the track, but just curious."
