Salmon a possible centre option?

Reading through all the posts around the training sessions and it appears that salmon is playing in the centres quite a bit. Maybe an indication of where he may slot in?

  • To me its where hes best suited i don't think hesca 6 at this point in his career
  • With Corey gone, Salmon is a good option at centre with Dylan Brown to partner Moses in the halves. I believe Dylan will be a very suitable foil for MM as he will not over call him unless "it is on"! unlike Corey Norman who unwittingly undermined MM's confidence earlier this season over calling him continually even when playing fullback.
Back to Jaemen Salmon, he is a big unit who's strength is his running game and fit toughness with a good sense of what is going on around him. I believe he could develop his game there while also having plenty of pressure from Will Smith who has shown real speed and ball skills in training put his outside men away for some good tries.
  • I can't help thinking that another half is on the way, no rumours as yet but I could fathom a guess, just can't see us going into this with a rookie and a rocks and diamonds type half and having all that money to spend without at least looking at poaching a backup never was or has been from someone smart enough or desperate enough to move one on.
    • Worked pretty well a few years back when a rookie called Tim Smith and a very average 5/8 called John Morris paired up.
  • It could also mean that gutho plays 5/8th
    Salmon at centre
    • God i hope not
  • Why would we have a young half playing centre we all know how good he is so why play centre when he plays in the halfs

      • Stefino is still on a development contract, and only 18, and unable to be picked until after 30 June. Prefer we blood 2 new centres in Salmon and Parry or one of them with Gutho (didn't know the background of Salmon or Parry). Mennings is past it looking at his performances last year for both us and Tonga. $800k wasted there because of our stupid club didn't have the balls to make the option in the club's favour. Grrrrrrr.

    • I reckon there are a couple of lock ins.
      1. Gutherson
      3. Mennings
      6. Moses
      7. Brown
    • 1 gutho 2 french 3 mennings 4fergo 5 sivo would be a great backline most likely 4 taka 5 fergo
