Salary Cap Changes Needed

Due to the recent problems Parra has had with the cap and the amount of injuries, the club and other clubs have had, I believe there should be changes made to the salary cap. In the recent blog on the salary cap I couldn't see anything on cap dispensation for long term injuries.

I believe that if a club suffers a long term player injury, lets say for more than 1 month, that the player's salary is deducted from the cap for the duration of the injury. The player's salary that replaces the injured player is added to the cap and does not affect the 2nd tier cap. 2nd tier cap will only come into play if a lower grade player promoted for an injured player out for less than 1 month or poor form.

Clubs will therefor not be badly disadvantaged with the cap for long term player injuries.

  • It's the NFL injured reserve, works for them. Should be able to be adapted to the NRL
  • The 2nd tier cap is a total lottery & has to change
  • Stupid reply Kram as if only out 3 weeks the 2nd tier comes into play, mental illness does not count as injury (otherwise called mental injury) and rest of reply just really stupid.
