Salary cap 2018

It's been reported that the 2018 cap will be in excess of 10m, so who do we target? 2017 we still have over half a mil in TPAs attached to our cap. Do we tell JH to head to rugby for 2017 then sign on for 2018/19 seasons? Is Semi going to be with us still( ok who has a crystal ball) and what hard hitting prop do we need to steal to give us a real crack at winning the comp in 2018/19. And for god sake when are we going to give BA a blank cheque to extend his contract??? Oh how I wish for some good news to filter out of parra instead of all this gut wrenching horrible news we all have endured the last 6 months.

  • I think we target doing things by the book and staying under the cap.

  • First n for most we should reward our own. That what builds a good team n chemistry. Focus on retaining, taka, Edwards, Norman, Pritchard, French , Manu etc then focus on getting new blood.
    • Thats exactly whats being done josh ,finally a sensible comment ,we need to keep whats been built first and there is an active campaign doing that at this moment ,once thats completed and we know where we stand decisions can be made regarding recruitment ,ive heard we already have been successful there anyway ,but like said sensible appraisal of situation josh, wish a lot a lot of others here thought before running amok with cheque book ,thats why we are in mess we are
    • G's how would I really love for
Sterlo to be on the Eels board.
As he is a fighter and he also
      loves and respects Brad and
says it like it is. Love them.
      Parramum... Cheers!
  • Brax if theres a priority its obviously BA no BA = no hope !!!
  • Who is handling the negotiations, I am assuming it's BA as we don't have a functioning board. The stress and workload will eventually get on top of BA, he needs people there he can rely on to share the load. it's a bit of a worry, the club needs to address the Board issue ASAP.
    • BA ,peter sharp &schuey ive heard ,poor old BA ,hes a tough bastard ,wont give up on the blue &gold ,were so lucky to have this guy
      • True Stewart, not many coaches would of handled it the way Brad has. We are very lucky to have him and I hope he has a Bellamy type reign here at the Eels. BA's contract is THE most important contract.
  • Won't happen choc the TPA situation isn't the nrls fault there hands are tied as the RLPA what unrestricted earnings for the players which is a joke
  • Hayne I think will be an eel in 2018, not next year. Semi should also be a priority as he is off contract then.
