SALARY CAP????????????

hey guys, does anyone think we are over the cap?

i just recieved some info but not too sure if its true or not, that parra got done being over the cap and will b released tomorow or wednesday.... as well as the titans. they say thats why they couldnt re-sign mateo and inu. i hope its not true, fingers crossed.

nah i say they are sticking to the rules and they couldnt match warriors offers . eels have never broken the cap ever since 1947

  The Eels broke the cap once in about 1999 or 2000 by $40000. They gave Dallas westons wife a job and payed her $40000 so the NRL made them count it in the cap.

they say, if its true, that they will cop a fine and a penalty hasnt been decided yet. lets hope its not the case

  If it is true and they are only over by $100000 or so they will cop a fine and thats it. It happens every yr by a few clubs and it is always just a fine. The worst offenders apart from the storm are newcastle and tigers they have been caught heaps of time, i even think the roosters were over in 2002 when they won the premiership.

It's hard to believe we are. We're always losing players.
Last year when we wanted to keep Kingston we couldn't and all the details were pretty transparent. Also, the details with Fui's mum coming over and how that had to be counted were made public.

If the nrl has found something I'd bet it isn't a systematic rorting of storm proportions but more minor eg Dallas Weston. Like you say Kingston on a low wage couldn't even be re-signed.

We were still under the cap that year, despite the money to Weston's wife. We were only fined for not including the payment under the cap.
