Salary cap

Is parra working the salary cap the right way?

How are certain teams ( you know who ) signing all these players ?

Do other teams know the cracks and option better than parra ceo ?

Just curious do other teams know something we don't.

  • Other teams are happy to pay transfer fees and not see it as an expense. Perfectly legal.

Other teams have a community of like minded businesses that are happy to assist in small ways to lure players over.

We are run basically by an accountancy firm that will not consider to look at other avenues to promote its grow. We don't have to cheat, but we should be attracting TPAs via our mature fan base and their posititions in business.

Gus has basically spoken to the Laundys and have agreed to spend where possible to build the team

    • The Laundy's being the club sponsors are unable to spend for TPAs as that is against the SC rules.

Of course they have mates who can ...as long as it isn't coerced as a lure to play for a particular club.

      • nothing like a pokie payout for dogs players

      • That is how we got stung in 2016, the club were bringing in TPA's for players, then buttering them up with private boxes and that to get money out of them for the club also.

NRL rules state, the club can organise a TPA for a player, though the TPA must not at any point have any connection with the club post becoming involved with a player. They can fund the player and that is all.

  • The laundys would be happy to pay the 500k transfer fee and it ain't illegal

    • What transfer fees ?

  • Most teams are doing dodgy things with the salary cap but know they won't get caught unless there is a whistle blower within.  The eels got caught out badly a few years ago and are wisely staying clean as getting caught  with another breach so close to the last one would be catastrophic for the club. The roosters, storm and now dogs have powerful people involved in their clubs so are pretty much untouchable.

    • Yep, whoever is running our club, there is another faction that wants to see them fail. This means we are always at risk of whistle blowers burning our club to the ground. For this reason we need to keep our nose clean.

      • Spot on
