Ryles has every right to tap certain players on the shoulders to move them on.
It was interesting to listen to the human testicle on 360 tonight that moving on RCG is a travesty and the club is a shambles.
At least Buzz made the point it was Ryles that has made this decision and he has every right to shape he's roster.
The only reason the current players are putting in 100% at the moment is they are playing for livelihoods and new contracts. Pity they never put in the same effort at start of the season that resulted in Arthur being sacked.
Ryles needs to sit down with Moses over a few beers and address this uncertainty moving forward regarding he's future. Until then oxygen thieves like the human testacle will continue hammer the club.
The fact Moses is signed for the next 2 years and he needs to come out like Flanno regarding Hunt.
Ryles has been too quiet for my liking and he needs to come out and start talking about he's ongoing planning for the club moving forward. Because at the moment there's no clear message coming from the bean counters or Ryles.

Ryles is working in the background, no need to make public statements while Barrett is in charge for the next few weeks - the club doesn't need to respond to any speculation driven by hoops the conehead - responding gives these so called journos a sense of being relevant, they look so foolish when they totally ignored.
I do not think Ryles needs to do anything more than what he is currently doing. Season has 4 games left, Barrett is being paid to do a job, let him do it. Whatever Ryles would do now won't change anything when he officially takes over come September 7th.
Him being quiet I prefer, he is ruffling feathers without making his prescence felt. Doesn't feel the need to sell himself or walk around like a tirant to the media or us fans.
Ryles needs to stop the exodus of players , the administration is the worst I have I seen I 60 years of following. , the Fitzgerald regime didn't lose players they wanted to keep , and the sacking of Arthur was a debacle and has caused ripples through out the football club , hence all the departures
What about present vs presence?
I don't understand the presence of this blog.
You start of suggesting Rylles has every right......
Then it is said by Buzz that Ryles made the decision .......
Then you say that Ryles needs to sit down with Moses over a few beers.....the fact he has not already done this is not given any regard and if he was going to do this/ or has with RCG or Moses, do you think we would know about it? No chance!
My personal view is that I would not have a clue what has actually been said other than I cannot understand why Ryles or for that matter anybody would have tapped RCG on the shoulder.....RCG's body language is not strong at the moment and I am wondering if he being not happy has asked whether he can have a look around. Lets draw that out a little further and "someone" says yes then all of a sudden its been reported as him being "tapped". Whereas all RCG wants to know (or his manager) is whats out there because technically he cannot talk in the current window.
RCG leaving would make no sense at all if you are Ryles, unless of course he has a ready made replacement waiting in the wings.....Analyst says get ready for a major signing.....what comes first the Chicken or the Egg ?.
I think all this is bullshit as Ryles will want to start with as strong a team as possible 2 wins out for the first 6 games and he is on shaky ground as the vultures come out!
Agreed that Ryles would be looking to start with a strong roster, and Parra have shown what they are really capable of with their current roster, and without Moses too! I don't believe much of the speculation floating around regarding who is going or staying. We'll find out soon enough anyway.
Ryles officially starts the gig when the season ends. All of this speculation in the media about players being tapped on the shoulder is precisely that...speculation. Let the media have their fun, drama is their currency and they're cashing in.
Any good leader comes in, observes and listens before making sweeping changes. Once we close out the season, then it's Ryles turn to take the wheel. Right now his lack of presence is appropriate given he's not the head coach yet.
Agree completely with your and Finny's premise, but also am now coming around to Hooper getting out of hand and needs to be put down with a denial from Moses that everything that has been speculated upon is "bullshit" initially thought Ryles could kill it but is trying hard to stay out of the speculation, understandably.
I'd be highly concerned if Ryles, officially released by the Storm almost a month ago, was doing "nothing" right now in preparation.
There's a lot to do re the roster, coaching team & support staff. That would amount to "a presence" if he was involved.
Timeline:
Out of curiosity, did the early release change things? Is he on our payroll yet in some capacity as an incoming head coach (affects admin cap)? Or just surviving off his Storm payout and his own savings in between "jobs"?
St Kilda beach & the nearby cafes aren't too bad, but it doesn't bode well if he has been told "don't worry, put your heels up, we've got this". You "punch in" your "job" and "take over next year". "Start Fresh." "It also helps our admin cap too".
That "job" mentality though not uncommon in the corporate world or local pizza shop would concern me. If true.
My bet or hope is he's working in the background making his presence felt with selected people. Talking to some. Prioritzing. Quietly. Watching. Planning. Deciding. But I don't know the specifics of what he is doing or not doing, and what he had been told or not told.
Rcg has one good year left in him. Same as a lot of these older forwards. If he goes a year early so be it
