Ryles, have we seen enough to declare he can coach?

Do you think you have seen enough to declare Ryles is going to be s good coach?, it's a resounding yes from me. I declared early on that he will be the coach to end out premiership drought and that feeling has only been reinforced as the season has progressed.  It's a bold statement but I'm sticking to it.

  • Exceeded my expectations in year 1 . Not ready to declare he's going to be the long term big success as yet.  Have seen the likes of Payten and many others have a great honeymoon period only to find out the year on year grind and pressure of expectations start to wear them down.  Justin Holbrooks another example, was an absaloute genius in his first two seasons , within 3 seasons the fans wanted to hang him from that Tower at Dreamworld.  Right now Ryles has zero expectations , ditto for the young players.  Wait until they get their big upgrades and " own " their spots .  He is not really dealing with the mental issues he will no doubt face when these players get a bit of ego about them . It's inevitable .

Lack of decent signings , a football manager spending too much coin on players that hardly took the paddock and a shithouse recruitment officer can turn a coach with potential into a zero.  I feel Ryles success will hinge on more than just his own ability unfortunately.

    • Yes the front office will be a handbrake.

  •  When you've got Cooper Cronk saying Parra fans should be very excited for next year after how we started to wear we finished, I think it's safe to say Ryles is a keeper.

What's impressed me most about Ryles is his willingness to back himself as a rookie coach. Certainly got the courage to make tough decisions. Mitch Moses spoke recently about the influence Ryles had on his leadership. Something good brewing..

    • I think that's what impressed me about him the most. He had the balls to tell imposters like Brown and Gutherson to tell their stories walking. But it's pointless if we simply pour their entire salaries into more kids with just potential without earning big contracts.  It breeds mediocrity.

  • If he can just get us to front load our effort and chase the colllision he could be on to something.

    • Lol, I can't wait for the press conferences if we get that right.

    • I can't wait until his young halfback and hooker sons sign for us.  Young Blake and Patt Ryles are supposed to be hot property.

      • He has the blue print- part the sea and sack any other player that could block their path from Under 7's to NRL.

    • Junior Paulos second stints he's winning collisions that's great to see.

When he comes back we start clicking back into gear.

    • Lol Bert hope your well mate, BA is limited and extremely average coaching wise - Ryles gets it and has done a decent apprenticeship
