That's big news for Matterson. I don't think he has had a game yet back from injury so to return and make his debut would be a tough ask for a very important make or break game for Roosters. Interesting to see how he will go. They obviously want a big body defending on the edge.
Apparently he was MOM last week for Wyong in his comeback game
Are we sure he's playing?
Because I was under the impression that he had broken his leg in the pre-season and was out for a lengthy period of time.
Plus, there is no record anywhere that I can find - not via a team-list, late mail/changes or any data on NSWRL, the Penrith Panthers (Wyong's last opponents) or the Wyong Roos that he played.
However, if he does play, I don't think he'll do much, to be honest.
He had 18 months of solid Holden Cup and then like other halves in our system at that time, simply regressed when he took the next step and didn't play well or consistently.
He is now even bigger than he was when playing for us. Got a feeling he is destined to play in the backrow sometime down the track.
You gotta feel for him, players want to score on their début, not give one away.
Good hit back son!
Congrats to him!
