Ryan Matterson

Parramatta Eels forward Ryan Matterson has been charged by the NRL Match Review Committee with a Grade One Dangerous Contact – Head/Neck following the Eels Round 20 victory over the Wests Tigers at Bankwest Stadium last night.

Matterson was charged with a Grade One Dangerous Contact – Head/Neck following a tackle on Wests Tigers Asu Kepaoa in the 65th minute of the clash.

The charge carries a 100 point penalty, meaning Matterson will be available for selection in Week One of the 2020 Finals series if he enters an early guilty plea.

Wests Tigers fullback Adam Doueihi was charged for a Grade One Shoulder charge on Eels winger Maika Sivo for a tackle in the eighth minute of the clash. The charge carries a two week suspension but can be downgraded to one week with an early guilty plea.

Placed on report during the clash for a tackle on Benji Marshall, Eels Will Smith was not charged by the Match Review Committee.

          I think ....

  • That's great - I was under the impression that any crusher tackle was a mandatory two week suspension- happy to be wrong !

    • It was deemed dangerous contact not a crusher tackle

  • Awesome, was a soft penalty he fell into the tackle, Cooper Cronk and Mal Meninga will be spewing on the fox saying Matterson is in Trouble, Suck it up you biased QLD/VIC caarnts.

    • Mate it was eels fans vs everyoen else last night. Everyone wanted Benji to win and call eels crap so listening to the media is useless. If you want a proper opinion you would need to listen to the likes of Andrew Johns and Brad Fitler who are much less bias.

      • '' Johns and Fitler less biased".Hahahahaha that's hilarious.

      • Matterson is dumb. He looks like he's still running around with concussion.

      • It was clumsy, nothing more, and he came in to finish off the tackle which every player is trained to do

"I did modern day as 1998 onwards as I didn't see them play, as some here haven't. Where I believe majority of people here have seen all the modern day players play.
Plus it frees up some spots like we all know who 5/8 will be but now no idea."
