Board Rumours

I am hearing very strong rumours from friends of a board member that some of the newly elected directors are not at all happy about the leadership of Steve Sharp. Apparently after a few months they are finding that the Chairman is going about making statements in the media without the knowledge of the rest of the board. They are also concerned about the constant vendetta and blame game on the previous administration that has cost the members over $2 million in legal fees, reports and fines. One particular newly appointed director has asked for a seize fire or has threatened to resign. chairman Sharp could also be in hot water over an alleged comment made to a fellow director over 2 years ago about the well being of another director who at the time had just undergone surgery for cancer. From all reports a leadership challenge to Sharp is not far away.We really need to pick up our game at Parra! We have been a basket case now for too long. It seems that ever since DF was terminated by 3P the place has gone backwards on the footy side of things. I will acknowledge that Spagnolo and co did do some good things in turning the Leagues Club around but in football terms we have not been able to get it right since Fitzy's departure. Maybe that was always his Forte and his experience in football was invaluable. then again you can argue that we have not won anything since 1986. But depends how you measure success. Does success mean the odd premiership or having stability and being competitive every season? My take is that ever since Brian Smith left the Club we have gone backwards. We may have not won a title in his time but we were very competitive every time we took the field, not only in 1st grade but throughout all our grades. This was due to the great systems he had in place. He also had a great support crew.In closing I really hope the joint gets its shit in order off the field so that people who know the game can go about their business without being micro managed by a board that obviously has no idea about how a football organisation is run. Brad Arthur and his management team should be left to do what they do best without interference.

  Pou I think you jump the gun mate. I am not trying to hurt the club. I am concerned about the club. So should everyone here that cares about the place. I am sick of us being in the press for all the wrong reasons. If any of this is true it's concerning. These guys ran a ticket together

Sharp may not be perfect but he is good enough and clean enough
We need stability
So let him and his team be for the sake of Parra
Give them several years then give someone else a go
But stop changing lanes every few seconds

Simon, very interesting. But this board has done ok in my view; and Parra has had a history of factions. Fitzy, Spags etc. This board has made some good calls and some bad ones, but I truly believe they are doing well. The current issue with TPA is from Spags; and let us not go back to the May elections, when people like Fitzy were still trying to pull strings...that is embarrassing. Let us all get behind the club, board, players and move forward. If this board is no good, then they will be voted out I am sure.

Fitzgerald is to blame for establishing a crappy constitution that allowed guys like spagnolo and his mates to come in get up to no good. The current admin are trying to turn all of this around. It is going to take a long time before we are weed free, but if your friend has access to private board info that is being leaked then your friend knows somebody who is trying to destablise the board. Your friend should report the person that they received the information from to the board or the NRL.

  I too hoped that it was bullshit. I am only conveying what was told to me. If indeed it is just a rumour then great, let's get on with it and support Parra to the hilt. But if it's true about Sharp then once again our club will be disgraced. I don't have a problem wiith any of the current board, infact I feel they are trying hard to rectify things. Although I think the majority of members really have had enough of the bullshit that goes on at the place. Sharp has all good intentions but is just missing some wise choice of words. As far as Spagnolo and co, it's time we move on from them and stop living in the past. They are gone and it's time to look to the future.
