Ok so it is off-season which means rumour season also. Now, take this with a grain of salt as it is just rumours and not from a guarenteed source. Don't be too harsh on me and let's have a bit of fun discussing.
So the rumour circulating on forums and socials is that we have signed or are chasing Winger Sione Finau from St. George Illawarra. He is 22, played 2 NRL games, 1 game this year where he ran for 176 metres against Penrith. His size is similar to Daniel Tupou, but has pace.
The link between him and why we want him is he was born in Victoria, came through the Melbourne system then played some QCup with Easts Tigers. So he knew Ryles from his days at Melbourne coming through the grades. Finau then signed with the Dragons where he has been since.
Now he is inexperienced, but for what we want and need this is the right signing for us. No guarantee he will be a star nor be a full-time FG player. But for what Ryles wants and what need; speed and size, he is perfect to develop for that. At Dragons he had minor injuries and his defence is fine but apparently is what held him back from more NRL games.
Again, no guarantee this will go through nor if it is factual but if it is true it is a nice addition.

Again Wiz rumour is what it is. It has been floating lately on different forums. But if true i like the potential. He has untapped potential.
The odds of it happening may increase if we're able to convince BA to take Sivo off the books to free up more cash and if the Dragons decide to take Gutho as well. That will mean Sloan will move to the wing and push Finau even further down the Dragon's pecking order.
Wouldn't be a bad pick up. It sounds like ryles wants to build winger depth with players with potential, and let them figure out who wants the spot more. It's really the only position in football you can do that.
i do think the club would be looking at a load of potential options. All it takes is the club to pick the phone up and ask how a player is doing, and boom the rumours start circulating
Plus having them cheaper and doing a similar job to those who were on more leads to us using our cap a lot better.

I don't think they are related but one of them thinks that untried juniors are better than Sivo no matter how many stat's prove them wrong.
