Its the end of an era, fan favourite Rugby League Week is set to close its doors and pull up stumps in rd 5 in a few weeks time on the 27th of march.
A staple for RL tragics since 1970 will be no more.
I think the internet and social media have killed off a lot of these publications, years ago before the internet id enjoy picking up a copy of RLW or Big league, these days theres such an over supply of RL news theres nothing youd find in a RLW thats not online for free, theres no real point forking out the $7 for a magazine that you wont read but its still a bit sad to see anything in our game thats served the supporters be no more.
RIP RLW

all because of the immortal brand
So what's gonna happen with the whole Immortals concept?
up the to nrl, they haven't announced anything that i know of
I believe the NRL will be taking it over.
The NRL has bought the immortals concept from RLW but that is all that will be salvaged it looks like.
Social media and forums etc, have made these publications irrelevant to purchase i guess.
I too use to love every week grabbing a copy, hoping for some good eels news.
Same mate, i used to really look forward to a copy in the 80s and 90s, used to read it about 4 times, always had a copy at boarding school as we couldnt watch RL and had no internet, i suppose the times are a changing.
Just imagine how bad porn magazines would have suffered lol.
LOL Mate I bet the Porn Magazines has drop off 98%
