6 again rule

I'm not fan of the 6 again rule. It has made the game faster and more untertaining for the fans but it as made the game more physically
demanding for the players resulting in more injuries generally, more serious injuries to players with players being out for longer. This in turn disrupts the team combinations.

This is just an observation but I would be interested to see if the NRL has any statistics on this.

Im sure that the majority of players dont even know why a six again was awarded in the first place.

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

On a somehat related note, has anyone notriced that fewer players at the Panthers seem to sustain serious injuries.

  • I agree. Remove it. The advantage is too much. Good games are ruined by multiple 6 agains.

  • It puts the game in the hands of the refs judgement way more, we aren't one of the teams who gets the calls regularly so it's no good for us.

  • It was never brought in to speed up the game and make it more exciting.

It was brought in to make it easier for the ref to influence who wins the game.

How many times during a game when a 6 again has been awarded have people thought to themselves, what the hell was that for.

Then there are the times when it's a clear 6 again but it doesn't get awarded by the ref.

Unfortunately this is the result of TV and betting agencies running the game.

    • Spot on BEM ... it's only there for one reason. There's no room for anyone to scrutinize what the bell was for, the game just moves on.

The referee can now literally decide who wins the game with no recourse whatsoever.

The game's shit now, it's never been worse IMO.

      • 100% Kram.

I use to love watching every game every week no matter who was playing.

These days I pretty much only watch Parra games and even then I'm not that fussed if I miss it.

    • Yup nailed it. Soo many times this season we have been in the games only for the opposition to receive a bunch of weak 6 agains until they've managed to score and pull away ,  once they've got the game where they want it they'll even the tally up towards the end of the game.  It is 1000% about the referees being able to infleuce the outcomes.  Have said it all along. This year there was a massive fix on I don't give a fuck what anyone says. It was blatantly obvious. Last week against the Broncos it was an obvious turning point in the game. We couldn't buy a 6 again.

When we played The Rorters earlier in the year they got about 6 in a row until they scored.

      • Yep.

I am backing the fix to get a Panthers v Broncos GF.

Then they can decide whether to give the win to the Panthers or bringing the once mighty Donkeys back to the head of the table.

        • Yep so bloody true

          makes me so livid 😡😡

        • There's actually a handfull of clubs I've seen getting asssitance , I'm thinking there's a chance they'll give the Warriors a leg up. Watched a few if their games this year and they've had the rub of the green. Warriors vs Brisbane in the NRLs eyes would be very beneficial .

          • Wish there was a whistle blower -

            it's just crap
