Rouse Hill Rhinos

When it's all said and done will there ever be a bigger story from Brad Arthur's tenure here than 4 of these kids playing NRL for the club ?

I know we all know it happened but I can't believe how accepting some people are of the fact that of all juniors playing rugby league in the country , FOUR came from this side to play NRL . That is unprecedented, you'd be a slim chance to get 1 progress.
I saw on 360 the other week BA is hamstrung in recruitment and not always getting the players he wanted . So someone else at the club has come down to watch BA coach these kids and decided four of them were NRL talents ?  In my opinion there's a bit of a sensitive nature to the story because the kids aren't really at fault they just love footy and worked hard to get to where they did but there's no way you can tell me there's four NRL talents there and it honestly should be a bigger story as to where it's left the club when it comes to some of these guys filling out the side now and over the last few years.

  • A lot of fans have been suss on this all along - especially if they have known ppl who had their kids in the comp at the time .....

  • Mate it is a wild story.

I really can't imagine any other nrl coach escaping heat for it . You might be lucky to get 1 or 2 players from an SG Ball rep squad make it to NRL. 4 from the runners up in a local competition is crazy. It never happens. Something has gone wrong here.  It's not like they were the most dominant junior side the Parramatta district has ever seen either. I won't accuse BA of going out of his way to get kids he knows a leg up but there seems to be a complete inability for him to

    a) identity the right juniors coming through the system / what we need to recruit from elsewhere

    b) to seperate his attachment to his job . He has made a case guys like Russell / Sam Lare NRL players  and they wouldn't be there anywhere else. I don't think either gets a top 30 spot anywhere else. We all know Jake shouldn't have been backup half either.

    • I think Sean Russell is a steady NRL level winger. He'd get a gig at another club. Sam Loizou I think only played one game for us in that end of season match when we literally put our Cup side out. Penisini is a bonafide NRL player and while many of us disagree with how he used Jake Arthur, Jake got a run for Manly in the NRL last season, so honestly he likely will become one of those journeymen NRL players. Loizou isn't even in the top 30 and was released last year. He's back here on a second tier contract.

      • For me Sean Russell is an ideal utility back he can cover all 5 back five spots that's a valuable commodity to have in your squad.I to believe he isn't doing that bad of a job.Sure savage ripped him a new one but hey it happens. He doesn't shirk his workload bringing the ball out for me as above ideal utility back to have in your top 20 odd players.

        • Yea Russel is the minimum standard of an NRL outside back. But that means he should be a back up not the best winger at the club lol.

    • 💯  can't argue with any of it

    • Keep up the good fight. We'll get rid of ba eventually.

      • No chance.

The guy owns this joint, it's worse than the Fitzgerald days. I don't know a lot about Power but it seems to get to so many people's heads, BAs head is just bigger than most.

  • our only saving grace in the media at the moment is Souths thank god for that ........

still can t believe a bog standard Canberra team with no premiership chance put 40 on us ......

just goes to show HWOT wins ever time

one other point is that BA has given these kids a shot and also retained them ahem S Russell and they have no right to be in first grade .....

    • No it's not a saving grace....

This club needs a massive blow torch put on it to force the changes that so many of us know we need. It was clearly needed in 2018 but all we did was kick the ball down the road. And they will do it again unless the media step in and put this guys feet to the fire.
