Well done BA for turning this team around (great man management)!  I like the team selection and it was good to see Scott being dropped for Gowie.

When possession morths in the whole Royal Family!

FIRST HALF:

- Very strong first half with 84% completions (16/19), the best some far this year.  From memory we only ever had one better half of completions last year and that was 86%, which was round 1, 2017.  Where as Manly only completed 7 from 13.  As we can see when a team completed at such a high percentage they run away with it.  What's that you say, "POSSESSION IS KING"!

- A picture tells a thousand stories, Parra 826 metres vs Manly 435.  Parra 5 off loads, Manly 2.  Manly 19 missed tackles to Parra 3.  Poor discipline from Manly saw Parra get 7 penalties to Manly 1.

- Pritchard strong in defence had looked dangerous in attack.

- Both Norman and Moses ran the ball forward and attacked the line.

- Alvaro, ran 80 metres, 23 tackles and 11 runs - wow!

- Mannah, ran 80 metres from 6 runs in limited minutes off the bench.

With no Hayne for the second half it will interesting to see if the left side struggles.

- The defence was the best we have seen this year.

- Great emotion, great effort, great line speed.

- Matagi had several powerful runs and bent the line early and deserved his selection over Evans.

SECOND HALF:

- Parra 33 from 35 sets (94%)  Great discipline.  POSSESSION IS KING!

- Mannah 163 metres; Ma'u 126 metres; Alvaro 122 metres, Gower 112 metres.  Great results from our forwards.  Scott won't return to this team with Gowie playing like that and Brown to return.

- Parra got 90 metres in first set (great set).  Great hit from Smith (on the wing) to prevent Turbo T getting out of the dead ball area.

- Great tackle from Kenny causing Api to drop the ball.

- Lovely repeat set from Normy.  Good effort from Gower.

- Normy carves them up and scores a lovely try (great angles being run) = 26 to 0.

- Pritchard looking dangerous again in attack.

- Great low tackle from Pritchard.

- Penalty count now 10-2 for Parra.

- Nice repeat set from Moses.

- After 14 minutes in the second half Mannah was leading the run metres with "143", Ma'u 118, Gutherson 100 and Alvaro 80.  Mannah does look a lot better starting from the bench.

- 30 to 0.  When dreams come true :) - Moses magic.  Tommy T caught out of position.

- Bad read from Parra's left edge with Manly try.  30-6.

- Manly look to attack Smith again on the left wing and DCE threw a NFL pass over the side line.

- King Norman ran to the line and passed a short pass (soft hands) off his hip to Edwards.  36-6.

- Nice block play from Manly and try to Uate on our right edge.  36-10.

- The King is in.  Great bust from Moses and who does he find - Terry Lamb (aka King Gutho) backing up.  The 1% King.  42-10.

- Penalty goal - 44 to 10.

- Great chase from Gutho, repeat set from nice short kick from Moses.

- 5 to 0 in drop outs.  Repeat sets is building even more pressure.

    • It was the best attacking game from Kaysa I remember, particularly when you consider he went off with a head knock early.  If they play with that discipline, energy and confidence we will win more then we lose for the remainder of the season.

    • Well said.

  • "A picture tells a thousand stories" then proceeds not to show a picture?

    • Lol.

  • The importance of a utility player on the bench. Smith played hooker for about 10 or so minutes and wing for about 60 minutes.

  • Sensational performance by the EELS today, Norman gave an absolute masterclass performance. The whole team was brilliant. I have been very impressed with George Jennings.Go you EELS.
    • Norman and Moses played to their ability.  I most liked that they both ran to the line, played short and when they saw Turbo T out of position they put the short kick in.  Most of all both halves put the body on the line.

  • We were dreadful, wouldnt have beaten any other team but manly today.

    • Lol.  Are you and Fongy the same person ? :)))

    • How good was Timmy Snake?
