  • I know that Will Smith went well but if required, Jordan Rankin would be a fine 14.
He had a hand in everything in the reserves on the weekend and is a fine goal kicker.
He has been in the wings for over a season now and it would be a shame if he never graduates to the top team.

    • I agree that Rankin needs to be given a go in the top grade. Ridiculous that he hasn't in my opinion.

      • Hes a very good reserve grade player but has been found put multiple times at NRL level

      • Why is it rediculous Monto? We've won three from three in case you missed it...

        • I'm not saying Rankin should be selected this weekend against the Tigers but he should be given the opportunity somewhere along the line otherwise they might as well let him go and try his fortune elsewhere. In my opinion he's too good to be just not given the opportunity. That's what I mean by ridiculous. I'm well aware the Eels have won 3 from 3 in case you missed it.

          • How is it ridiculous that he hasn't been selected in the top grade yet? We have a squad of 30. You can be sure as shit not all of them are going to get a gig in the top grade. Offside, in a post above, has given quite a good reason why he may not get a run in 1st grade.

              • Good point Grunts but Rankin can fill a few spots as well .

After last week it would be hard to go past Smith replacing in the halves, did and excellent job once he settled in.

          • I liked what I saw from Rankin in the trials, control, composure and can kick a goal.

            Shame to waste him.

      • if it aint broke dont fix it

  • Hmm Ray Stone was good but I like hipgrave. Looks like it will be a battle between those 2 all year for a bench spot. I really like this side. I know some people are saying Nuikore will be found out as a centre but I dunno. I watched the replay of that Sharks game and he got on the outside of his opposite on more occasions than the reverse. I just reckon he's a better player than Blake full stop.  I'm not sure we beat a full strength storm with Blake in the centres. He was a real weak link last year defensively.
