Round 12, 1996: Parramatta 50 d Canberra 10 (Ritson last game)

Just adding another game to Electric Eel and thought I would post it here for anyone's interest.

 

23rd June 1996

Parramatta 50 (Jarrod McCracken 2, Jason Smith 2, David Woods, Keith Blackett, Peter Johnston, Matt Spence, Nathan Barnes tries, Chris Lawler 7 goals) defeated Canberra 10 (Brett Mullins, Noa Nadruku tries, Jason Ferris goal).

Venue: Parramatta Stadium. Crowd: 10,497. Referee: Eddie Ward.

    I attended this game. Lomax tackled Ritson head high and was sent from the field. That was the last time Ritson played for Parra.

    Ron hilditch lived in my street as I was growing up, and gave me heaps of posters etc during the early 80's, and is solely responsible for my Eels addiction, and the passing of it on my son. Damn you Ron!

"He looks bigger than Twidle to me. Taller anyway.  His contact will improve as he gets stronger and he can use his mobility to find his place at 6.  Coaches can challenge a players defence easier than teaching that natural flair in attack.  "
