All you need to do is choose the interchange bench.

* Salmon to be determined due to disciplinary reasons

  • Chief, I'd expect this to be team as well.

I expect the bench is pretty much locked in as well. Manu, Mannah and Terepo. The only position I really see up for grabs is 14 and I expect that to go to Kaysa.

Personally, I'd play Taikarangi as the 14 and make use of Salmon as a dummy-half when you want to give Mahoney a breather.

I don't like playing dual hookers in today's playing environment, where concussion rules and injuries mean you seldom finish any match with a full bench.

    • Why would you put Salmon in, theres no way a kid done for drink driving and then crashes into a car is going to play round 1

  • Dont mind that team at all! If Salmon is excluded for disciplinary reasons ( which sounds very fishy) who would replace him in the centres? ( Taka maybe- hope not).

  • Is there going to be an extended bench for this match as there generally is for trials? We might get a look in on Utoikamanu and Kaufusi. Interesting to see where Niukore will slot into the squad given he more than held his ground last season.

    • Niukore will be very unlucky to miss out - he was so good by the end of last year, arguably our best forward in a game or two there.

        • To be honest, I can't see him being mobile enough for the centres. He's a big lump of a lad, who's basically put his head down to run straight and hard for the last couple of seasons.

I personally think a lot of people underestimate Kasya. Nobody seems to remember how he's actually gone once he's had a couple of games under his belt and he's always been oustanding. I concede that's not a huge amount of games considering he constantly has broken down but I think when he's at his peak, he is a NRL quality nine.

    • So is the Round 1 (more than likely) line up as Chief has stated or the line up for the first trial game as youve indicated Super?

  • I can’t see Moeroa staying 2nd he’s just to big and with depth we now have there I see him going to the bench and playing a middle forward role.

I’ve heard talk of manu possibly starting in lock and browny starting off the bench until he regains match fitness, he will have missed a big chunck of pre season so makes sense.

My bench on that lineup though would be

    mannah, kaufusi, peni, marata

      • Manu, Moeroa, marata, lane, Davey, taka, take your pick. I did say depth, that doesn’t mean that all living the world on fire

        • Salmon and Kaufusi also play on the  Edge
