Round 1 NRL Open Thread

The footy is back and this year what I plan to do is have a thread each week, where you can discuss the current round. Predictions, comments, analysis, fantasy/tipping comp ramifications, are all welcome. It will stay in Top Blogs each week until the end of the round then we'll move it to Leagues Blogs.

I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing the Roosters tonight. I'll be very interested to see how their new halves combination goes. I think those two complement each other pretty well and I think the Roosters are going to be the big improvers in the season.

  I think they will be quite ordinary. Too many big name players, too much pressure on them, with only an offseason to 'gel' together.

channel 9 need to fuck karl stefanovic off the telecast for starters. Tom Waterhouse needs to go too.

Watching this Roosters, Souths match im thinking the Eels are a long way behind the top teams in regards to the speed at which they play.

  Really? both teams have great go foward and physicality but they both look very very beatable. Roosters are having a shocker and haven't put any pressure on Souths, yet the few times they have Souths defense outwide looks very very suspect.
