Roosters keen to blood youngster

Roosters want to blood their teenage sensation. Why don't we consider this with French and/or Folau when Hoppa is out on origin duties instead of playing players that have no long term future at the club? The reason.. Trent Robinson knows how to develop juniors. Something I'm not confident with when it comes to brad Arthur's coaching.(Via Daily Telegraph)MEET the unknown youngster who has been compared to Greg Inglis and could be the trump card to get SuperCoaches through the next tough bye.The Sydney Roosters are considering writing to the NRL to seek special dispensation to stretch NRL laws and allow star NYC fullback Latrell Mitchell to debut in round 14.Guidelines state youngsters must not debut prior to their 18th birthday. Mitchell would turn 18 on June 16 - three days after the Roosters play the Warriors in round 14.Coach Trent Robinson is keen to blood Mitchell when Origin stars Daniel Tupou and Michael Jennings are out.He is a project player for the Roosters and considered the long-term successor to Roger Tuivasa-Sheck at fullback, but Robinson is keen to blood him on the wing first.

  • I'm not up with the second tier salary cap and our issues or non issues this year....i.e. Luke Kelly not being named.  But it would seem that we cannot blood young Bevan French, even if we wanted too!?  I hope others can shed some light on this topic?  But I fear it has already been covered in other blogs which I am too lazy to find and read!!!

    • Yeah I believe you are right, but even if we weren't over the cap, I highly doubt it would happen. Can't we still play Folau though?
  • maybe because this Latrell Mitchell is built like a grown man, Bevan French still undersize?

  • No 17 year old of built like a grown man.
  • Lol @ eels fans wanting French in the top team pronto, i bet u its the same fans who have yet to see him play. French is a while off 1st grade, no doubt the talent is obvious, but the body shape and weight is yet to catch up. The bloke is built like a bean pole and would simply snap in half playing 1st grade in his current shape, he needs to live in the gym this offseason if he wants to be factored in the top team sooner than later, also, like at the Roosters, when french eventually gets his debut in the future it should be and most likely will be on the wing to ease him in.

    • Playing him on the wing is what I am saying.
    • Actually agree with td here
  • Its one thing to blood a young bloke when your side is going great, been happening at Storm for years but what happens to the majority of these players when they leave.... Most of the juniors we blooded since our last real season have failed miserably apart from Hayne. Junior, Pauli, peni, Tepai etc still have not proved anything.
Feleti, Krisnan, keating's etc etc... Are on the "Where are they now" road.
  • Late ell Mitchell shits over french

"If Ryles had the players he wanted we would have been firing on all cylinders. But since we can't sign anyone to improve the other players around them, stick around for more false flags like this."
