That's about the first nice thing I have ever said about the MRC.
The Bunker boneheads should be issued a breach notice for those two glaring errors, as proven by the NRL's own Bunker
I think you'll find the MRC didn't fold as they're scared of Mr Politis and his mates .
Robinson said what many would and can say. If you ever see the EPL show and they interview managers all the time. Not sure if they have a fines systems there but the managers always make fair and open comment on the refs. And their game is ten fold bigger than ours, and if we don't cop criticism then how do we reflect ? Ohhh that's right it's a love fest of pats in back etc. the administrators have lost the plot.
Mitchy, Robinson's points were fair but the method in which he went about it was not.
The two Fifita boys were punished last year for bullying a junior ref, yet a head coach of an NRL club did the exact same thing!
It behooves the players and coaches at the top level to set an example and this was nothing more than a case of bullying.
Politis has used his power and influence to paint the NRL into a corner. What will the NRL do now? Pull Cummins from future Roosters games, or let him ref them, allowing every decision to come under scrutiny? And Cummins will know that so, in all likelihood, he'll ref them softly from here on in.
Remember when Darrel Hair rightly called Muttiah Muralitharan for chucking? He basically got rissoled out of the game of cricket. This is the same thing.
You can pretty much bet that Politis told Robinson to engage in a very public attack on a referee's integrity with the surety that any fine would be covered by the Roosters supremo.
This was a powerplay by a club administrator to get his own way by publicly undermining the NRL.
It's just not on!
The EPL does have a fines system, its more sever than the NRL's in terms of the amount of the fine. The EPL then ensures that referee wont ref the complaining team for a long time if again for the year. EPL coaches are more than happy to take a fine to remove a ref they don't like from their future matches.
