Roosters chasing manu

This is why we shouldn't worry about wasting cap space on hayne we 1st need to lock up players like manu, there is no doller fiqure for how important he is to us. We need to lock uo the important team players 1st then look to sign hyne we have seen how hayne goes without a strong side around him.http://rugbyleagueweek.com.au/roosters-target-hardman-mau/?adbsc=social_20160701_63384776&adbid=1176295855744989&adbpl=fb&adbpr=110919635615955

  • Theres been talk Of Manu having a few salary related dramas for a while now, unhappy with TPAs and current salary, he's been fielding huge offers no doubt, id be shattered to see him go, desperately hoping we can work something out but its looking very worrying, his worth has sky rocketed, credit to him he's worked his ass of for every cent of that.

    • Manu wasn't himself last night it seemed...hope it was unrelated.

We need to pay the guy what he is worth, don't need a semi repeat at this point.
  • His worth has only sky rocketed because the Eels took a gamble on a jail bird. I am so over players signing contracts when they are not recognised first graders only to winge that they are underpaid when they start improving.
  • I think Brads a victim of his own success, most get better under him, players worth goes up, harsh reality that BA has to deal with.

  • Snake, the appropriate people that these players should hold to account are their managers. Parra did not force Manu or Semi to use a particular manager that is their decision. At the time they signed their manager believed it was the best deal they could get at the time.
    • Brad im not disputing that and fully agree, but sometimes players worth goes up and if they are on a modest deal and providing huge value its fair they can expect a top up, its fair enough they might get a bit frustrated.

Its not as though Manu is fucking the club over that we know of, very different situation to semi, but i do agree with you mate

  • As fans we have to understand that sometimes you have to let good player like Manu go if they start commanding big money. Your spine is what wins you competitions and quality halves are hard to come by. There are plenty of good back rowers around. If we can keep Manu at a reasonable price than great, but if clubs are willing to pay overs like Canberra did with Paulo so be it
    • I can't argue with you Brett. The game doesn't give a shit about its fans anymore. All they care about is the next TV deal. The NRL is not listening to the fans and if they keep it up they will start to lose on their precious TV deals because there will be no fans left to watch
    • Agreed, Angry Eel. Ma'u will be 29 at the end of this contract. Still at his peak, but who knows for how long? It would be great to keep him but not on overs.
  • Wow, so over the last couple of weeks, Semi's been linked to rugby, Norman's been linked to the Dragons, Foran's been linked to Manly, the Roosters and the Dogs, De gois has been linked to England, Manu has been linked to the Roosters and Beau Scott was rumoured to have been leaving us as well.
