Rnd 17 Panthers 25 bt Broncos 12

Only 2 weeks ago in round 17 penrith beat broncos 25 -12 in dry weather and it was another great panthers win. 2 weeks later we beat them 26 - 12 in the wet and we are terrible and have so much to work on. Plus we had that crap no try call. I read somewhere our full spine have only played together 5 times this year. Penrith beat us last week 20 - 2 without our 9 and 6. Look what happened when we played the storm without their 9 and 6. Are we being too critical?

  • Isn't that what this site is all about, to criticize the Eels, or have I missed something?

  • We are Paramatta Eels mate. Our name is enough to warrant the media to crucify us. However, in all seriousness we have been pretty shit the past 2 months. When developing a roster, you don't create one for just 17 players. Injuries happen. Your not going to have the same 17 each week, so you need to have depth in all positions.

    • Yea people shoudlnt expect us to go from shit attacking to the best in the comp. The weather wasn't the best for a high scoring game. I understand the semis are soon, but we progressed well this game. Moses just needs to touch him his short kicking game and pass selection. Also run less horizontal (which he did less of tonight). If the refs made a few good calls we would of easily scored 30+. Also dont forget Waqa's escort of the scrum kick. That minor escort made all the difference between a try and 20m restart.

  • Yeah I completely agree with what you are saying. People have been making excuses for the likes of roosters and Melbourne when they have a player or two out, but when it's Parra it barely gets a mention.

  • The Broncos have improved since Siebold went on 'quarantine', particularly their defence. The Broncos we played tonight were nowhere near as bad as they were 10 weeks ago.

  • Good point! We get bagged and Penrith get praised. It's the Phil Gould effect!

  • spot FP. I have been arguing this for weeks in the cupboard

  • AND ?????????????

  • I thought we were pretty good. Score line coupe easily have been more like 40 to 6 or something. That ridiculous Paulo penalty changed the game for 10 minutes and gave the broncs a try. Then there was the Fergo try they got called back. There were other near try's too like the Waqa Blake chase. We will start to nail those

    • Agreed, but we also need to put those bad calls to the back of the mind and move on. I felt we let those calls affect our game for a while and that is where we become vulnerable.
