        • I can't wait to finally see the back of Matto that guy is planning life after footy because it's become clear to me he no longer wants it like he once did .Terrible way to finish a career from a guy whose potential is SoO player at his best now he's dying a death of a 1000 cuts in cup.

Agree HKF it finally looks like we have some quality depth.Only thing missing is the class. We got Moses and potentially Iongi but a couple more wouldn't go amiss.

        • Yeah let's say it's a 10% chance Matterson plays for us at all and a 1% chance he is back to his best. He'd be in our best 17 but so unlikely.

i really like the idea of Junior playing 13 in the same way he did for Toa Samoa. Hopgood, Williams, Moretti, De Belin prop rotation is exciting. Walker relieves Junior. That's a quality middle.

Im hoping we nab Blore and he and Kautoga on the edges with two quality defensive halves who can kick, it's a hell of a team. Speed on the wings in Fox and Simonsson or Russell. Just need Kelly and Penisini to do their jobs in defense.

          • agree if our centres can defend ...we in for a reasonable year

          • I know Junior's retiring soon, but I think Tuivaiti will be ready to take his place at the end of the year and we'll have him, Hopgod, and Moretti at prop

          • Don't need Blore, we have an abundance of edge players.

        • Doorey will be in the mix too. I have a feeling he's in for a big year.

      • Simonsson has to beat Kelly. Russell gets a spot, he was used a lot by Ryles last year.

        • I think Bailey is the closest like for like replacement to Lomax. His work out of the backfield is strong and he's a much better finisher then Sean. What may happen is Ryles gives Russell the Dylan brown treatment and he's the 18th man most weeks ? He can cover the backline and be used for injury replacement. I'd pair up ado and Kelly and Will and Bailey.

          • Agree Russell should go to the extended bench to be used in case of backline injury. But will Ryles follow last years example? He did use Brown as 18th man but only late in the season when semis were out of reach. I'd like to see it done earlier. Russell was a regular last year so can't claim lack of gametime for signing with Bears. A local junior as well and bears unlikely to be winning the comp in their 1st few years so that just leaves the bigger bucks as a reason for leaving. Now he's certainly entitled to do so but how many times have other players committed to other clubs for less money because they believe in the clubs ability to be successful.  Russell seems to not feel that way. Come on Mr Ryles - be staunch and play him only when you have to. Sends the message of 'buy in or bye bye'

        • Simonsson is significantly better than Kelly. But Simonsson is a winger. Don't understand the Bailey disrespect on this site
