Rnd 1 & Corey Norman

Traveling to work this morning, I thought about how we can possibly beat the Bronco's in Rnd 1.If we win, I expect Corey to be man of the match, or thereabouts. I am convinced that he is going to be our greatest attacking half again this year, despite Foran clearly being in a class above him (I expect Foran to be solid without being brilliant whilst he battles the weight of expectation in his first year).Corey always seems to lift against the Bronco's, no doubt because they didn't want him at 5/8, despite playing well for them, and he takes the result personally. That much was clear last year with his running battles against Hodges and co.I think he is good enough to get the job done. He is quite elusive, without being overly quick, but his running game is quite underrated. This aspect of his game is likely to flourish whilst he can confidently rely on Foran to do the organising. I can't wait to see him make one of those jinking runs through the defensive line, hopefully to put Semi away for the first try of the NRL season in 2016!

  • Chomping at the bit for this game! I'll be there with bells on!
  • First game of the season is normally toss a coin to see who stuffs up the least.

From Rd 4 on is when we should be saying - "I expect a win" or "We might get toweled up"

Very rarely will you see much quality footy in the first 3 rounds.

  • You certainly see a lot of dropped ball mushie
  • Parra are specials in fact I'm willing to bet my new Chris Gayle T-Shirt on it.
  • Nothing worse than getting a soft tissue injury in your gun Matty.

  • I was at the game last year and several players were giving it to him deluxe, but I thought he handled himself well and lead the team.
I'm not sure who underates his running game? The bloke is a pretty solid fullback.
I would love to see him have such a stellar year that selectors are tossing up between him and DCE.
    • DCE hands down Grunts

One of the biggest tossers in the game.

Norman's running game is pretty predictable though - he has got to take the advice Wally Wanka gave Ben Hunt - run 50%, pass 50% of the time, but don't do either on a regular basis.

Hopefully Dozey will shine with Foran helping him out.

More plays with both halves on the same side of the paddock.

Kicking close to the line will be something we need to get right.

  • You must be talking about the Cardiologists Matt.

Lot of soft tissue around too many of our players tickers in the past.
