Very sad news today that Chris Jurd has passed away.
Chris was made a Life Member of PLC only this year and is also a Life Member of the Eels, both of which are very deserved acknowledgement for his service as a director of both the Leagues Club and Football Clubs. As a lawyer, he volunteered much time to the Eels on legal matters, and also was a long time president of the Toongabbie Legal Centre.
Back in the day, Chris was also quite active on 1Eyed Eel, and posted some wonderful historic images to the site

I had many exchanges with Chris over the year, both in messages here, and in person - he was a genuinely nice bloke, intelligent, considered and of course loved the Eels

RIP Chris, as well as his work for the Eels and this forum, Chris was also a staunch supporter of Parra Marist Old Boys. The world is indeed a sadder place for his departure, so many will miss him
