RIP Chris Jurd

Very sad news today that Chris Jurd has passed away.

Chris was made a Life Member of PLC only this year and is also a Life Member of the Eels, both of which are very deserved acknowledgement for his service as a director of both the Leagues Club and Football Clubs. As a lawyer, he volunteered much time to the Eels on legal matters, and also was a long time president of the Toongabbie Legal Centre.

Back in the day, Chris was also quite active on 1Eyed Eel, and posted some wonderful historic images to the site

I had many exchanges with Chris over the year, both in messages here, and in person - he was a genuinely nice bloke, intelligent, considered and of course loved the Eels

I had the pleasure of having plenty of chats to Chris, usually during election times, he was a bit like Col, even when his health wasnt great which it haadnt been for many years, he remained upbeat, stoic and never complained.

There wasnt much Chris didnt know about the club which he genuinely cared greatly for, every time i spoke to him i learned something new.
