Right side defence

Sorry for another negative blog but serious Morgan and Hoppa were dreadful tonight!!! I honestly wouldn't mind seeing both of these guys walk away. Hoppa is dreadful, he saved us once tonight yes I give him credit there but his attack is nothing, he is WAY to slow and doesn't even look when he passes the ball. He is worth about 250k right now honestly. Morgs was dreadful tonight, I'm not normally a Morgan hater but tonight he was shit house, he's a "fill in" player at best. Next year I would put Folau in the right centre spot with Reece Robinson outside him, let those two train in those positions all off season and build a good combination and see how it builds into next year

  • I'm talking about defence mate. Hoppa has done it all year though man, he is dreadful in attack he is to slow. He can't catch a bomb and I've never ever seen him stand up his opposite man in attack
  • I reckon our right side defence has been awful for years I remember Eric Grothe Jnr leaking tries there. Maybe our team are not ambi turners lol
  • Morgan kept coming in too far and Hoppa had to cover for him. That whole side was a mess, with Morgan being the main problem. Even when he marks his winger, he's not that good. I reckon Hoppa could go OK with a decent winger outside him (who can defend). It's amazing to think that Hoppa is an Origin player....

  • He didn't drop a bomb last night. What are you talking about he can't catch them? He's definitely one of our safer options in that area.
  • Hoppa isn't quick enough to play in an NRL backline. His speed is comparable to snails of yesteryear like Luke Covell from the Sharks and Darryl Halligan. He's a better footballer than those guys though, but I think he has to move into the pack.

    • Morgan is one of the best athletes in the club consistently up the top of speed, strength and conditioning tests.
      • That says more about the state of the club than anything else, no wonder we continue to make up the numbers.

  • Unfortunatly have to agree. Its such a shame that Hoppas lost his top pace, I think I read he has played all year with a groan injur y so at least hes tried. After watching last night (it was hard) we have to resign Robbo he was making ground when he had the ball all the time and still has decent pace. Tanga and Semi tried their hearts out, I love Tanga he just doesnt give up and has a bit of passion. So next year with Gordon coming we need Robbo either at right centre or wing and we desperatly need a backup half.I would use deGose for the rest of this year, Seffa offered nothing last night. And again resign Robbo

"Super, well said. As Captain noted he probably needed to rethink his "Offical (sic) Statement". It wasn't his best work, and he didn't run it through a spell check."
