Ricketson lends Cayless his wisdom

PARRAMATTA captain Nathan Cayless has turned to former Sydney Roosters champion Luke Ricketson for advice on how best to deal with the hamstring injury he sustained last Friday night which threatens to derail his grand final dream. A veteran of 301 games for the tri-colours, Ricketson twice overcame the effects of a grade two hamstring tear to take his place in the Roosters' grand final line-up -- in 2000 and 2002. According to Ricketson, a mixture of good fortune and good management on both occasions helped him play the 80 minutes. So it should come as no surprise that, when put in touch by a mutual friend -- Eels winger Eric Grothe -- Ricketson was pointed in his recommendation. "I just told him to stay positive and, whatever he did, don't sell yourself short," Ricketson said. "Obviously, there would be all sorts of things going through his head at the moment. You are just on tenterhooks all week and it can really hinder, not only your preparation, but those around you if you let it. "But, especially when you are one of the experienced guys in the team, you can't let teammates in on your doubts -- you have to stay positive. It is amazing the way your mind can sometimes trick your body into healing itself." FULL STORY HERE: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,26143790-2722,00.html

  • We really need Caylo for this game i don't care what most people think
    • I agree 100% he deserves a ring and we would miss him cause everyone know b wright isnt that good :P
    • My thoughts as well Darkhabitz. However Cayless would rule himself out if he felt he couldn't give 100%. He wouldn't want to let the team down on such a big occasion. I reckon he'll go hard in the test on Saturday.. do or die.
