I was looking forward to seeing Richie play and sorry to hear the news on the trial blog.
I would believe 1ee over lurker but lurker wrote this:
Richie Has Spine For Fight
Good luck to Richie Fa'aoso in his comeback from a broken neck for the Eels this weekend.
I’ve been hearing Fa'aoso has been training sensationally at Parra over the summer and could have played weeks ago.
The problem has been finding a doctor willing to stick his neck out - pardon the pun - to clear him.
Does anyone know what has happened?

Terrible news for Richard and his family. Some serious questions with our management needs to be asked.
It was previously reported he had two doctors and needed a third doctor to support his return. It was also reported that the NRL required three doctors supporting his return and then he was selected to play in the NT. If he didn't have the third report or any supporting reports why did the club select him to play against the West Tigers? It sounds like the management of our club are a bunch of idiots for offering him a top 25 contract, allowing him to train with the club when a contract was not ratified by the NRL and without clearance from Doctor(s).
It is now reported on this site under team lists that Richard was told today/this afternoon that he won't play again. Massive blow to us if true.
If true we have lost some senior middle forwards from last year and over the off season - FFMM, Allgood, Mossop, Smith, McPherson. I just hope that Nelson is not tied up in the Gold Coast drama.
Additionally, for some reason Wicks and Tui are not playing this weekend. Just hope they have not picked up injuries prior to Round 1. Hopefully Lasalo is signed to Wenty because we will need some more depth.
Kelepi is probably shaking his head thinking I never wanted to go to NQ.
LOL @ FFMM, Allgood, Mossop, Smith, McPherson.
We've got plenty of middle forwards, even without Fa'aoso:
Mannah
Lussick
Paulo
Alvaro
Terepo
Wicks
Aloiai
Kamikamica
Plus we're going to spend plenty of time with two back rowers in the middle (and only one prop) so all these merkins can also cover for Fa'aoso:
Watmough
Gower
Paulo (Seffa!!!)
Pauli
Ualesi
We could even stick Takairangi in the middle, or play him on the edges and shift Ma'u or Moeroa into the middle. Fa'aoso is (was?) a good, tough, experienced forward, but if he really is gone it frees up space for someone else.
I honestly don't think we wanted to keep Tanginoa.
The club also thought McPherson and Fa'aoso were going to add experience and depth to our squad. BA's issue with the squad was that we lacked experience. When you now look at our NSW Cup forward pack it looks very green with no Allgood, FFMM, Mossop, Smith, McPherson and Fa'aoso.
^^^^This^^^^ If it is true then all the best to him in the future, but its not like our season rested on his shoulders. His experience would have been nice, and at least the boys got some of it during the off season. I dont see it as a waste of time, he knew it was a long shot to start with, and so did we.
I think we had a spot for one of them not both, and we chose Pauli Pauli.
Peats, Mannah, Junior, Manu, Watmough, Gower and Tepai are the only ones currently with the ability and attitude for first grade. Wicks and Fa'aoso and maybe Lussick are the only other ones with a chance to add to that list this year. So I think we will miss Richie in the middle this year.
Mannah
Peats
Fa'aoso
Watmough
Manu
Gower
Junior
Wicks
Tepai
would have made a great forward pack by the second half of this season
