Resigning Norman and Peats.

Question: As it stands right now, we look like we might struggle to retain Norman and Peats if we are over the cap in any way.The biggest threat to the cap for a 2016 player is Wotmough...Let's say that we are over the cap because of wotmoughs deal, but he retires and we get tha 700k top up... Depending on how much we are over, we could end up with next to nothing out of wotmoughs cash. We may in fact be over by 700kIf so that leaves us either no cash to resign Both Norman AND Peats as a duo package. We may have to lose Peats in order to keep Norman if Norman demands a pay rise and we aren't topped up by wotmoughs retirement. If we are already maxed out, and freeing up choc doesn't boost our bank account as a club, and Norman wants a pay rise, then we lose peats in order to top up Norman yeh? Is that the jist of it?Another thing...There are talks saying that if Wotmough retires and the eels are eligible to receive a 700k top up, that it's a loop hole Rort and that it shouldn't be aloud. And that Greenbergs first massive test as NRL CEO will be how he is going to Handel that loop hole. Pressure is mounting on how he handles it as there are reports that ALL the other clubs are watching closely because of the eels get away with it that makes it fair game for them to exploit too! So in saying that, even if wotmoughs contract is under the cap, his retirement will likely not help us at all financially.(In order to understand that side of things u need to look into how the eels have gained advantages by signing choc before sending him into retirement. They include the fact that Wotmough lured other good players to parra and it implies that the eels and Wotmough knew they were gonna retire him as soon as he helped them recruit well, all tje while knowing that he would get paid out by the NRL after he helped recruit Foran and others to the eels, and when he retires and the eels salary cap would be topped up)I'm not the best with the financial side of things so correct me if I'm wrong. But I'm starting to think it's inevitable that we are going to have to lose Peats in order to retain Norman.Id really like this to be clarified to me so of I'm wrong let me know

  • From what those in the know are saying here we are not over the cap this year so no problem...
  • Why would be we losing anyone else??? We had 500k to throw at Junior???  We also have Choc's money that can be spent on topping up Norman and Peats. Our cap is fine for this season and there is no reason it won't be fine next season.  it's helps not paying reserve graders first graders money or overs on average first graders.

We aren't doing that anymore and are a club players want to come too, thanks to BA and the team he has built we are a desirable destination again. Amazing considering the clowns in running the joint.

  • Your paragraph inside brackets is the stuff Kent would put together in order to promote another 'exclusive'. Total BS speculation.
  • If it means we keep Norman I would let go of peats but be our loss and some other club gain

so in saying that I would find a way to keep them both and Danny wicks the rest  Don't let the door hit you on the way out

If we keep any of the rest I would resign them to wenty only

    • even though what you wrote, Paul is very hard to decipher, are you trying to convey that we should get rid of Danny Wicks? Why? Wicks been really good for us in the past two years. We should re-sign him for another two years, have Watmough on the staff and when Beau Scott retires, get him on the staff, and re sign Normy and Peatsy

  • Ok so after reading all these comments... It turns out that Cory Norman was just made an offer by the eels today and he has REJECTED IT !!!

The eels could only offer him 600k per season

Norman met with the panthers today
  • Could ba be after cronk. Norman could b asking too much. Cronk foran combo. I would not b to upset if we lost norman for cronk!
    • Cronk near the end normy at start ,dumb statement
    • No freaking way.

Norman all the way for me. Plenty of upside as hes still quite young.

  • Sharp hates Peats, but Peats job isn't on the line. Peats will have the last laugh.
